Muscle jerks/twitches has me in a panic

I have had twitching before but not this severe. I was dealing with a very stressful family situation last summer and in September started having issues with more frequent twitching in random spots and tingling/burning in various parts of my body. The twitching and tingling now comes and goes and this week has come on with a vengeance. I did a telehealth visit and doc look at my mouth and lips and said I’m dehydrated and this is likely why I’m having these symptoms. I’m scared it’s ALS or MS even though as I’m typing this I am lifting weights with my legs. I’m a 38 year old woman and have so much to live for. I don’t want to leave my kids motherless. I hope this is my anxiety or dehydration. I just needed to get this out.

Anxiety, dehydration, and even no apparent cause - all normal. People twitch and have muscle jerks all the time, and it's rarely ever an indication of an underlying issue of any kind.

Dehydration makes so much sense- I would suggest looking into electrolyte supplements! You can drink tons of water and still be dehydrated if you don’t get enough electrolytes. Natural Calm is a good one- it’s calcium and magnesium. Magnesium can do wonders for muscles and is an electrolyte that almost everyone is deficient in. Coconut water is a good source of electrolytes as well. If you hate the taste of those drinks you can also soak in a bath with epsom salt or even just soak your feet in warm water with dissolved epsom salt- this wont help with liquid hydration so make sure to drink lots of water too- but it will get those electrolytes into your body and hopefully calm the muscle spasms.
Once you have dedicated some energy to rehydrating and staying hydrated, you might consider yin yoga- it’s a form of gentle but deep postures that gently stress your connective tissue- this cues the body to rehydrate the tissues and help them strengthen.

That doesn't change anything. I often go weeks or months with seemingly persistent twitching.
