Does anyone elses anxiety get heightened in the morning? I get so scared in the morning. I feel like my body is tingling and that I'm gonna stop breathing or fall out or pass out or something. Or something sudden like a BA. I just feel like something bad will happen in the morning so I'm constantly on edge. I always wake up early, for work and stuff. The sense of impending doom is strongest for me at night and in the morning. Anyone else? I hate this feeling. Especially considering my fears are ones that can take you out at random. Doesn't help the symptoms I've been having.

Hi Grace....yes my anxiety is so bad in the morning also. Seems to last most of the day and then at night it may not be as bad. While in bed I don't feel it as bad. Just seems to want to hang around and the symptoms just won't leave!!!!!

Story of my life: I wake up quite scared because of many real factors & responsibilities in my life, then spend most of the morning dozing on and off to avoid them. A waste of a morning, not addressing many of the tasks I should be doing, some of which would alleviate my fears a bit. Stuck in a cycle. :(

Yes when going through worry and seasons of anxiety morning is by far the worst. The doom and dread feeling is so terrible and unexplainable. The feeling is probably as close to the feeling of being in hell one could get.

Yes - morning is definitely the worst for me too. I start feeling more hopeful and less anxious towards the afternoon/evening, but mornings are rough.

I think with a lot of people they wake knowing ' here comes another day '. Not exactly looking forward to having to face a brand new day. As the day moves along their anxiety might not be as bad. Once they get into the day and get going.

Yeah I think that's it. We kind of dread the long day ahead.

Same here, my anxiety is at its highest in the morning. Sometimes if I think about it too much my legs feel shaky and I think I am going to pass out or have heart failure

Years ago I used to say it was like one very long day with only the night time as a break to rest up in between times. Think everybody is aware of the challenges of a new day. The mind is ahead of you wondering ' what will I have to face today '. You have the night time off. before another day begins and it starts all over again.

How do you make it stop?? I am afraid to get out of bed because I can't stand the feeling. Stays with me all day. Been feeling like this for weeks. Usually it will come on for about a week and leave. Going on 4 weeks. What is wrong with me!!!!

Same feeling here DaisyMae. Almost hate to wake up because you know how crappy you will feel. How can this all be anxiety.

Gale, maybe you should ask yourself, after all these years and nothing has been found, how could it NOT be anxiety? You would be on your way to acceptance with that question instead of caught in the worry cycle of anxiety.

Maybe your anxiety was heightened? It was you that had to have something done in hospital and was put out, was it not? Since then your anxiety seems to have gotten worse. Was there anything really bad about that one day? Any major anxiety surrounding the whole day? You were feeling sleepy the next few days if I am not mistaken. The two could be linked. If it was a bad experience. Up to you to tell us.

That's my problem not accepting. Iam in denial. Everyday I hope and pray for it to go away. Lugrad we have talked before and you have tried to reassure me many times. Don't know why I can't accept this. Any advice?

Gale, I also had a procedure done last summer and things got bad right after. I think we get too worked up about any little thing that even something minor gets blown out of proportion to us. It really is hard to accept all the weird symptoms as being anxiety. Everyone says if we quit worrying about it the symptoms will go away, and that is hard for me to believe too. Maybe once someone has had it for so long it is hard to imagine all of the sudden not worrying about it? I don't know. I hate it.

I am ok in the morning, mine starts like a clock at the afternoon, and towards the night I feel better. The one that I hate the most is the lightheadedness, it makes me so mad and scared.

I felt great for a while after I got my tests from the doctor and they were great, but after a while, same music over and over.

Nothing to feel embarrassed about Gale. Many of us have had things we didn't want to believe was just anxiety. The fact that just anxiety could do such things to us sounded dumb to us. Many others have had so many tests done and nothing at all ever found, but still they think the doctor's missed something. Very common for people with anxiety to think in this way. No shame at all in it. That is why we have anxiety. Accepting it is just anxiety is the first step. With everything else ruled out. Then we look for ways that we might be able to calm ourselves down when anxious. Is there anything different we can do? Or something we are doing that we should not be doing. That might even just involve how we are thinking. If something happens for a few days in a row, the mind can expect it to happen after that at the same time every day. Once we begin to think in that way it will happen at the same time each day. Is like we are teaching our minds to think in a certain way. Second we feel anyway bad our mind takes over. Then we react to those thoughts. Our symptoms kick in. Can we change how we think and how we react? That is the magic question. Never easy. Trying to get the mind to think a different way than it is used to thinking. Trying not to react as we have always reacted. I do think been put to sleep at the hospital might have something to do with how things have changed for you. I am no expert. Just been anxious when you wake up now. It might be linked to waking up after what you had done. Because that did have you feeling very tired / worn out for a few days after it. That is all it can take to start something like this off.
