Metal leeching.

Turns out my wife has been using coconut oil that has had a spoon sitting in it for anywhere from two weeks to a month, she doesn't really recall. It's just been sitting in there at room temperature. She uses it for lotion and to treat her hair.

Could that spoon have leeched dangerous metals in to the oil? Is this an exposure concern? She doesn't care but I worry about her.

No, she's fine. I know it's difficult, but try not to project your anxiety onto people around you. That not only increases your anxiety, but it can also cause added stress on others. I know, I've been there.
