Okay so a week ago I was helping my dad move something really heavy in and out of a car. It was our snow blower and im not joking it’s super heavy. The next day I started having a Lower back pain whenever I bent over, sat funny, etc. I just monitored it for a few days and eventually went to a chiropractor. I’ve been twice now and after doing an X-ray and some physical tests he is confident it is a strain in my lower back (a strain is basically a tear in the soft tissue). This is the seventh day since the injury and I’ve not had a ton of relief yet. I would say on a bad day the pain is a 6/10 and on good days it’s like a 3 or 4/10. I’m sure it is healing and the last few days I’ve been icing and trying really hard to avoid bending over, etc. Hass anyone ever had a similar experience after hurting their back and should it be taking this long to feel relief?

The chiropractor is closed the next couple days for the holiday but I’ve got a third appointment with him Monday morning and I’m really hoping to have some significant improvement by then.

Sounds like you really strained your back. Have you had it checked for a slipped disk?

Aren't slipped disks extremely painful? or maybe i'm thinking of something else..

Steven it definitely sounds like a strain or a pulled muscle. Hows the pain been recently?

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Yeah they did scans and stuff and it’s a strain. Injured disks are extremely painful and the doc didn’t even suspect that. It’s been feeling a lot better lately since I’ve been taking it easy and not doing anything to irritate it. I’m definitely on the tail end of recovery so should be good as new here soon!

Glad you're feeling better. True, slipped discs are very painful, but then you never know. Hot baths and heat plasters are pretty good for strained backs.
