Is a false positive result you can get. People who have no symptoms at all. Always the way these things can work. Just have to wait and see how it plays out. Is a long way off at the moment.

I heard that some tests are not accepted by airlines and they are fussy.

We are now in March I fear this year won’t be anything better than last year maybe the odd stay cation? I really fear there won’t be much to do this year. I was feeling up beat at the start of the year but I really fear this is 2020 rerun even with vaccines. Does anybody see things happening this year parties events or holidays? Will it ever go back to normal?
Do you ever see unvaccinated people having normal life?

Will take till about June or July to have about 80% of the population vaccinated. So can't see any major changes this year. Hard to know how well a vaccine is working when a country is still in lockdown. When a country comes out of lockdown only then will you know how well the vaccine is working. In Ireland the roll out is slow. My mother had hers cancelled yesterday because the vaccine never arrived. This is happening a lot in Ireland. People are giving dates for the vaccine. Then getting phone calls telling them it is cancelled. Same excuse every time. The doses of the vaccine never arrived. Life won't return normal this year. But the further we go into all of this a better vaccine might come along. What we have at the moment are not cures for the virus. They only stop you getting the virus in a bad way. That means, even after the vaccine, you will still have to wear a face mask and social distance. None of that will change at all.

I did some cbt therapy today over video neither therapist wanted to continue as they wanted to do it weekly and that’s too expensive. wanted 4 weekly. I seen something about F1 only letting vaccinated people in or those who have recovered from Covid so perhaps policy will vary this summer? Also wonder if they will allow people to not quarantine too if they are only tested and not vaccinated?

For now they are simply trying to keep everybody safe. The more people that get the vaccine, the less people there will be to catch the virus off of. Things will begin to change then. And only then. That is still a few months away. We can only sit and wait and see how it all plays out.

Cyprus will only take vaccinated tourists and the F1. Seems to be playing out the wrong way as I feared no vaccine no job no holiday?

So we know international travel will allow a COVID negative result. We don’t yet know about jobs be surely if it’s not mandated for travel surely work situations would be worst case testing? I believe around May we find out the results of the government study into COVID passports?

So once they vaccinate x number of people what is the risk of catching it unvaccinated? Would social distancing have to continue for unvaccinated any thoughts?

I seen a newspaper headline now say the majority won’t need an annual booster..

So many people get vaccinated and the rest is up to herd immunity. Might need about 80% vaccinated. Some work places might want workers vaccinated. That is up to them. But people will challenge it in court. Unless it is made law, it would be illegal to fire a worker because of it. So you will have to wait and see how it all plays out. As for other countries? Most of the EU will stick together. No idea, as of yet what way they will go. but I am guessing people will need a vaccine to enter a lot of countries. Other smaller countries depend on tourists. They might allow you in with a negative test. Nothing will change follow the vaccine. Have to see how well it works first. Only see that when the lockdown is lifted. People will still be wearing masks and washing hands and social distancing. That won't change for a good while.

Says that the unvaccinated people the virus would “find them”.

My own sister says everybody will catch COVID even if they have the vaccine only they will have it more mild. Then I read how we can’t rule out another lockdown so what’s point of vaccines then? Do we need better ones to come along? Any thoughts on this? Are we all going to catch COVID vaccine or no vaccine?

There is no basis for this at all. If you catch the normal flu tomorrow it will be written up as Covid. Can we all go years without catching the flu? Probably not. I know a family. 4 of them had colds. Only colds. Told it was Covid. They were better in 3 days. Plus another 2 members of the same family never caught what the rest had. Everything is Covid these days. Lockdowns will come and go. Vaccines? No idea how good they really are until the lockdown is lifted.

I seen another quote from Belgium

“Anyone who does not get vaccinated against the coronavirus will be infected at some point, health officials stated during a press conference on Tuesday.”

is this true?

Even a person who had Covid already could catch it again. Having it does not make you totally immune. Might be immune for up to 6 months. Are reports on some people who have had it twice. The vaccine does not make you immune either. Still have to wear face covering and do all the other stuff as well. We have gotten this far. We just keep doing the right things and we should be fine.

Well I got offered the vaccine today

Not too keen to have it. Few issues I can’t wear a mask when I get it, not keen on two doses when America has J&J single dose, hate needles, worried about having a reaction as I have never had a jab before and also worried about long term effects. The positive if u took the vaccine I would feel better to be protected but I have deep concerns about this vaccine the appointment is 2 weeks any suggestions?

You have 2 choices. Get protected or maybe catch the virus? There is your options. Side effects wise? My mother got done last week. Not a bother on her. The single dose one, if you look that up does give you about 24 hours of hell. That is Johnson & Johnson. So have a think, Can it be avoided?

Neither catching COVID or having the vaccine appeals. It really is bleak I feel so angry about the vaccine appointment coming so so very anxious about it causes me a lot of distress. I really don’t know how to cope with this.

I read Denmark has suspended the Astrazenica vaccine due to blood clot fears now. It was in the newspaper but hidden on the main BBC site they probably don’t want people knowing. My biggest concern is people are telling me if you refuse the vaccine I will die or end up in ICU or a general comment like I will be exposed to the virus. Bit like a year ago my doctor said everybody would catch covid. If covid levels are low which they are going to be lower isn’t the chance of catching covid lower than it was in 2020? Was the biggest risk not 2020?

No winning with this one at all. You have your fears. Reading stories in newspapers and on the net are only making things worse for you. Have no idea what vaccine they are handing out in the UK. Here in Ireland we are way behind. We can't even get any kind of vaccine at the moment. What we were promised never arrived. Which means nothing will change for us. Lockdown will just continue to go on and on. Talking even people over 80 have not had the vaccine. That is how bad things are here. I prefer the German vaccine. Who knows what we will end up with.

Yes I mean it’s great to be protected but I am just not keen on the vaccine that’s regrettable but I can’t change my view point. I always said a tablet would be easier. I have a real reluctance to have this vaccine but I also worry not having it will mean I could some how catch covid?

Is a gamble you take. You have gone a year without catching it. Could go another year without catching it. Who really knows.
