Over the last year I've noticed my left eye gets semi blurry randomly and will feel numb at times. I've been to an Opthalmologist but she only found that my eyes were dry and it was possible strain. Hopefully, drops don't give me any relief. I'm worried of some tumor or blood vessel pushing on my optic nerve.. who knows but it's uncomfortable and bothersome. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? It worries me.

Do you get headaches after the blurriness?

I get this all the time! It started about a week ago and I freaked out. I got a bunch of tests done and it turns out that in some people severe health anxiety actually cause changes in the eyes. The left eye specifically because it is in front of some part of your brain idk the terminology haha but you won’t have changes in eye sight but it will just feel blurry and numb and only goes away when you completely forget about it. I would double check with eye doctor but it turns out it’s actually extremely common in people with anxiety.

Hi, I had visits to the opthamologist last year as I helpfully diagnosed myself with eye cancer but it was blepharitis (swollen eyelids) which flared up with stress. During my research, I came across lots of info about blurred vision and anxiety. I think it's like a chicken and egg situation.
The more we are searching our brains for evidence that our thoughts are correct, the more the symptoms seem to worsen.
Maybe make a note to go back for more advice after a month then you can relax a bit knowing you are monitoring it but also aware of it?
Hope you feel better soon

Believe it or not I was going to post about this myself. I've been getting a similar sensation with my eyes defocusing and my anxiety is honing in on that making me seem like my vision is getting worse. It gets better if I move my eyes around but if I focus on something it's more apparent. In other words I can drive just fine but looking at something for a while makes the effect happen.
