I was just wondering how long it'll be before this virus is gone for good. In my country the lockdown has just been extended until the end of April, and we're nearly at 2000 cases with 18 deaths. It seems like its wishful thinking to just assume the virus will vanish in a month or two. My university is trying hard to cram everything into this year and I just don't think its going to work out. I could be wrong, but i don't see a miracle happening any time soon. I also have crazy thoughts like what if it only goes away after 50% of the population is gone??? :(

I don't think it'll be going away any time in the really near future, but I'm also not an expert with these numbers and where it currently stands. Just based on the way things are going, I think it'll last a while still.

It’s been claimed that it could wind up being a seasonal thing, but no one knows at this point.

Don't hold your breath waiting for this thing to vanish. What they need is something to help slow it down or stop it. They are testing out the TB vaccine in every country. If that fails, they have nothing. TB effects the lungs too. So they are hoping the vaccine for TB will help as this virus also effects the lungs. Kind of putting all their eggs in one basket. We won't know anything any time soon. That fails might be another year or more before they find a vaccine just for this virus alone.

This virus has spread too far and wide to just vanish, even if your country manages to bring the rate of new infections to 0, what about your neighbors? And their neighbors...and so on...there will always be a climate and an environment for this virus to survive and thrive.

I think now that it's here it will never disappear completely, at best it will be like the common cold, at worst, like a really bad flu. The mortality rate is around 1%, so no worries about us losing half the world population...Best case scenario, enough people become infected and recover, so we develop herd immunity and in the future the virus will spread less rapidly. I think will have to change our social norms, take more care of our hygiene, be more careful with everyday items and wash our hands properly...but, humanity will survive.

They are saying a year at least, before they find a vaccine, and that's with all the scientists and doctors currently working at a breakneck pace to try to find one. Progress will be slow no matter what.

It won't disappear.
Its been around for I Believe 20 years Just never spread beyond animals.
When was the last time the Flu or the cold disappeared?
Life in the U.S. will get back to normal slowly by Maybe August or later.
I think things will open up with stipulations in place social distancing and only allowing so many people into restaurants.
If you own any stock in Movie theaters,Gyms ,casinos ,Restaurants or strip clubs time to sell they will not recover anytime soon.
They will be the most hurt

This will teach people to not only be more hygienic, and clean about the things maybe they never thought of prior.
It will also do A LOT for the global community in terms of pollution. I’m not an al gore fan, but the Lord expects us to care for what we were given.

“If I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:13, 14.

Early on I saw one scientist say in 18 months 70% of people on the planet would have it. Presumably then we have heard immunity in most places. I may never go away and be with us like the flu. If that is the case it would probably mutate to a less deadly strain and be more like the flu. A virus kills itself when it kills its host so being extremely deadly is not a survival trait.

I don't know if anyone of you is in collage or school but now they cut half of our assignments in half and I guess I'm DC one for the semester. In fro.south florida and this time of year is usually packed full of events and it's all dead. Pluse our schools are all online until the year ends. I hope it ends this year becuase collage is expensive and I need to go and work
