I've been having issues with my resting heart rate lately. It's always 100 or above. I know anxiety can cause this, and I also do have chest pains/tightness and shortness of breath. I've been to my PCP, psych, and even my cardiologist and not even my cardiologist seems concerned. I've had all the testing and currently wearing a 30-day monitor, but I was wondering if anyone else deals with this? I asked my psych today if my meds could be causing it and she said maybe so we can try cutting back at my next appt to see if that makes a difference. And that sucks b/c it seems like I'm finally on meds that make me feel somewhat normal. My BP has also been elevated throughout the day. It is really just the anxiety or am I crazy...

This is one of my main concerns also I check my pulse a lot. I went to the cardiologist did a bunch of test everything checked out. But I still get concerned when i think my heart is beating to fast. I think when you focus on it, it starts to control you and that will make your heart beat faster. Most of the time now during the day my heart rate is 70's to 90's depending on whats going on. At night my heart rate gets in the high 50's to low 60's now. Just try not to think about it as much and if your cardiologist said you are fit enough to exercise start exercising. Plus eat more beans, fruits, vegetables, grains etc you will notice a big difference. Don't stress over it make it your goal to try to change it. When you feel better physically you'll feel a lot better mentally as well.

The average ("normal") resting heart rate of 60-100 BPM doesn't apply to everyone. I'm guessing it's new for you (used to be lower?) but slightly over 100 is generally not concerning as far as I understand it (not a medical professional here). I've had so many concerns about my heart health - tachycardia, palpitations, chest "pain", etc. Doc and cardiologist both said I'm fine, with testing. It's hard to believe, I know, but we need to accept that our bodies doing odd things is not always harmful. The body goes through a whole lot, and it won't hurt us to deal with things like this from time to time.

I hope you find answers soon and you're able to get it back to a comfortable level. Hang in there.

Have you ever had chest pain like dull feeling? Its always there doesnt heal Ps; even went too far to have a angiogram which came back fine but the more i dig dr.google and medicle articles the more illnesses i learn and cope with it. My cardiologist said its all fine after my angiogram. Its been 17 days after the procedure. Now im left with my chest pains and possible after angio complications im obsessed with.

Yes. I believe it's musculoskeletal in nature and / or my GERD causing the aches and pains. I've learned to ignore it, for the most part. It still bothers me from time to time, but nothing like it used to. And since I got a much better grip on my anxiety the frequency of chest pains has decreased noticeably.

My chest pain has improved over time. I was diagnosed with anxiety over 2 years ago, and I remember then it was constant. After trying multiple medications, it is now intermittent. My psych believed the chest pains were due to the first medication I was started on(I was even in the ER a couple times, all testing was clear of course), and it seemed like she was right when it did decrease. After that though, I still had it sporadically.
I'm almost 37, smoker, dealing with post-baby body.

I monitor mine frequently as well, as I have a Fitbit. I can tell that I am fixated on it most of the day, and it tends to go up when I look at it or when I am driving(I get the most anxious when I drive). At night, it'll get down to the 80's.
And I'm trying to work on my diet and exercise. My cardiologist also suggested drinking lots of water. He could tell I didn't just by looking at my tongue, which I thought that was pretty cool lol. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, but I am still adjusting to a baby at home and my focus is usually on him so I don't really focus on taking care of myself.
Thank you for the advice.

Yes, my cardiologist had told me that I just might be one of those people with a higher heart rate but like you said, it can be hard for us to believe. I can't even tell how long it took me to process that all this is just anxiety. I was just so fixated that there was something wrong with me that no one has been able to find. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you so much! I'll have to watch it in full after work.
