Thanks for the responses, everyone. I am really happy to be here and to have such friendly and helpful people around me in this forum. I have overcome a lot in terms of my mental health and I want to be able to talk to others who are still making that journey and help in whatever way that I can.

Hello @Danes nice to meet you. When you say you've been loitering, do you mean you've been reading the posts here? You see that everyone is so supportive, it's lovely. So tell us a bit about yourself. You say that you overcome a lot of problems with your own mental health. How did you suffer and how did you manage to get through it? Do you have any lingering symptoms and do you think that it is possible for each one of us to heal completely?

Hey guys. Thanks for all the welcoming responses. I feel so much at home now that I don't even know how I managed without this forum before. Everyone here is so friendly and supportive and I look forward to being able to provide as much value as I am getting here every single day.

I used to be depressed and I actually attempted suicide once and that was when I decided to get some help. I found a teacher and mentor who helped me get through my depression and anxiety through focusing on the power of thought. It involved meditation, visualization and affirmations. I know that's not the route that most people want to take, but after being on medication for the better part of a decade and seeing little improvement in my condition, this is what finally worked for me.

Sometimes when I do feel anxious and it starts to get into a panic mode,I will lay down and close my eyes and try to picture myself down at our cottage we once had about 50 years ago just walking along the beach or sitting on the beach watching the sunrise .Or I can see my late dad and I fishing and me swimming,We had such a good time down there but once my uncle died we sold the cottage so now we couldn't get to that beach now if we wanted to ,because now it is a private beach.I just love the ocean it is so calming, and sometimes just invisoning that helps me,
