My name is Matt. I am make, 28 years old, and from the USA. I am someone who has recovered from Anxiety. My anxiety was spurred from experience as an EMT on an ambulance for over 10 years and service in the US Air Force. I was officially diagnosed with "General Anxiety Disorder" and medicated until I decided that medication wasn't the right path. I got over panic attacks in public spaces, etc just on my own. Today I don't have really any anxiety issues I'm happy to say.

Hello, Matt!  I'm glad your anxiety is doing better.  That must have been an awful experience you went through.  Medication helps some people, but it does't work for everyone.  I had a bad experience with it, too, so I understand where you are coming from.  I hope that you'll share some of your experience and ideas with us.  See you around the forums!

Welcome to the forum Matt! Well, most people who've have doctors in their families will tell you not to take medication unless its really really necessary. I mean there are alternatives to try out unless you're suffering from some life threatening or urgent medical condition. So, I am glad you chose the non-medication path, because meds can make one dependent. And that is never a good thing. Anyways, enjoy your time here! Again, welcome to the forum :)

Hi Matt, I imagine the stress of being in the military had something to do with your anxiety. I am very happy to know that you are no longer having these problems. People can and do improve from having anxiety issues and I am glad that you are one of them! Thanks for joining us, and I think you will find the forum to be  a comfortable place to be.

Hey Matt. It's amazing what you've been able to do all on your own. I also agree with you on the fact that sometimes medication isn't the right way to go if you know you can do it on your own., but it's great that you are now part of a community of people who will help and support you if you need it in the future. Have a wonderful day.
