Hi all, just joined the forum so I am a newbie, I have suffered from anxiety now for a couple of years, for me it eases and then it hits an all time high to the point where I suffer from insomnia, crash and burn. I guess my reason for joining this forum is to read up on other peoples experiences, and to talk to people in the same boat as it were. The last couple of months haven’t been great for me, I would say I have just come back from the crash and burn stage and have decided that I’m going to make some changes. I started thinking what triggers my anxiety, how can I feel less anxious, what can I do to help myself? I’m still learning, I must admit, it’s long windy road, but I’m feeling a lot more positive about the future, more then I have done in a long time! If anyone would like to talk about their experiences/or have any great advise please let’s chat

It ‘s Only Anxiety by Carl James and Hope and Help For Your Nerves by Dr Claire Weekes, who was renowned for her work on anxiety, having suffered from it too. James’ book is a condensed version of Dr Weekes work. Game changers. No need to crash and burn when you learn Dr Weekes’ acceptance method. It has helped thousands of people recover.

Hi, welcome! I joined here for pretty much the same reason as you, and have found it to be a great help.
There's a big mix of personalities here, so there's often a good mix of suggestions/solutions offered too.

Welcome. It sounds to me that you are halfway there. You have the willingness to make changes and to learn. Two very great assets in anxiety. Understanding is another big help. Knowing what is happening to us and why can take a lot of stress off, When we first have anxiety I would suggest bewilderment is one of the biggest feelings. It can be caused by some life event or just 'come out of the blue'.
The main motive should be to do something about it and not allow it to influence our lives. This is why the two books MATD talks about are essential reading.
