Really stressed about the hiring process to be a police officer and some factors in my relationship that are stressing me out. I have allot going on in my life and the pressure is really getting to me. I have had two panic attacks and some weird episodes of the dizziness while walking, confusion, etc. I've been working out and running again so that's a good sign but this morning I woke up and felt weird. I checked my heart rate on my phone and it was in the 50s which is normal for me but the heart beat was harder than normal. I don't know what this means but it got me worried. I just want all of this to go away. I kept waking up last night with a fast heart rate. I've had an ekg which came back normal over a month ago and over a year and a half ago had an echo which came back normal as well but the pressure and worry get to me. I just need to be told I'm "ok." Has anyone else had this in their life? Sorry for venting, I just get scared

Anxiety can , and often does, cause a sensation of a hard heartbeat. A resting heart rate in the 50s as well as two clean EKGs, tells me your heart is fine. Health anxiety has a not so funny way of magnifying whatever symptom(s) we either have or more often "think" we have of a disease and automatically causes of t o fear the worse instead of thinking about it logically..

Personally, while I am not a doctor, I think you are fine.

Yeah was you are describing is pretty common for stress symptoms.

Just keep exercising and sticking with healthy habits. Avoid sugar and caffeine. It will pass.

Im ashamed to admit that just this past Friday morning, I went to the ER because I woke up feeling lightheaded and my heart felt like it was gonna beat out of my chest. After getting there and calming down, I realized it was probably anxiety. After EKG and labs came back normal, I was convinced that that’s for sure what it was. Anxiety does really crazy things to our bodies. Especially when you’re fixed on certain sensations you’re having. Naturally you tend to notice it more when you can’t focus on anything else. And vent away! That’s what everyone is here for. Support and understanding. I’m sure you’re gonna be fine. :)

I'm not a doctor but these are common symptoms of anxiety and stress. I still wake up and feel like my heat is beating out of my chest some mornings due to anxiety. Next time this happens tell yourself that there's nothing wrong with your heart it's just fear.
