I have suffered for years on and off and go through stages of feeling great, to literally hitting rock bottom! My biggest fear which I obesess over and over is MND, I have had a shoulder pain for about 3 weeks, which I put down to a swimming injury (I started swimming once or twice a week in Jan), but its not getting any better and I read a story about a lady whos initial symptom was a bad shoulder that the GP kept dismissing, for a year! So I am convinced thats what I have and that my arm is numb. Does any one have any coping rational suggestions?

TIA

Hi Kelly,

The disease you fear does not involve pain. It starts in areas nowhere near the shoulders. It involves inability to do things like walk or hold something. Also, please don’t read about these crazy stories that may or may not be true, or where they don’t include important elements of the story that really matter. If somehow that story were totally true, which I strongly doubt, it’s a one in a million case.

I’ve had similar moments when I couldn’t stop overthinking symptoms. What helped me was trying more natural ways to manage stress and sleep, like medical cannabis strains. It’s not a fix for everything, but I found some calming effects that made a real difference in how I felt physically and mentally. If you're curious, this page has info on a bunch of strains: medical weed strains
