An MRI that is ordered due to headaches is 100% looking for tumors. Like, that's the main thing they are looking for. You had a CT scan and you had an MRI. I hate to break it to you, but you don't have a tumor.
And I can understand that. However, the fact I still have to go to a neuro and the fact my right eye is still having vision issues really concerns me. If my optic nerve is having issues, I hope it’s not for a really serious reason.

My friend was having a VERY similar problem to what you are experiencing. Her results also came back negative for a brain tumor, but I don't remember what she actually had. I'll ask.

So for her, one of her eyes was damaged from wearing contacts too much.
Regarding your muscle twitching and balance issues, that can 100% be stress related and can remain constant, even though the main source of your stress comes and goes. I have just gone through some enormous life stressors and some health anxiety, and I wobble slightly when Im trying to stand still, which feeds into my health anxiety. Brutal cycle.

Interesting. I wear contacts. However, they said my optic nerve was pale, which can be a lot of bad things. I’m not sure if that could be from contact wearing or not. I failed the field vision test in that eye (but I’ve always had a hard time with it in that eye).

Sometimes a pale optic nerve is the result of a defect that you are born with. If you have always had problems with it, this might well be the case.

Nobody had ever mentioned a pale optic nerve before. I also hadn’t had my eyes dilated in a LONG time to know if that was typical for me. I definitely remember a few times I struggled with that field vision test, but never as much as this time. My chiro seemed pretty sure it might be MS ((which didn’t freak me out). I had zero signs of MS on my mri. I worry bc the MRI was not done with contrast. My CT was, but not the MRI.

So you are still hung up on the tumor?

I don’t know what to be hung up on, honestly. There’s apparently something wrong, but the eye dr said he didn’t want to tell me all the things it could be bc he didn’t want to ruin my Christmas with worry. Ha. So then my chiro ordered the scans. I’ve read that an mri with contrast picks up issues with optic nerve but I’m not sure if it would miss a lot, since it wasn’t focused on the optic nerve and was without contrast. Although, I asked my chiro if it would have shown the optic nerve and he said yes. I sent the test results to my PCP and told her what I had been told and she said “everything looks good so far.” I go to the neuro at the end of the month, so I’m sure that will bring some anxiety. The head pains are less frequent now. Vision is still the issue.

I guess I worry that I was so relieved it didn’t show a tumor, that maybe it’s some type of disease/degenerative issue that could be as bad/worse than a tumor.

Omg why did I look up symptoms of a brain tumor! I have them. I have dull sense of tension on one side of the back of my head that started a few days adi. I’m generally I’m a stressful period so I’m telling myself it’s an anxiety but this pressure one ONE side of the back of my head is totally freaking me out. I took a Xanax earlier to try to relax all the muscles but it’s not working. I feel like why I lay my head back my head feels really heavy too!!!

Yeah, I am still having. What I call head pains. Doesn’t really feel like a headache. Feels like someone is pulling my hair. I also have the vision field defunct in right eye. I had an mri without contrast and a ct with contrast. Not sure what’s wrong with me!!

At least you’ve had the tests! I’m going to pray it gets better for you. I know it’s a pain!

Another thing that can cause that is a sore or tight neck muscle on one side.

I have a vision deficient in my right eye, still. I keep checking to see my range of vision and it’s still bad in that eye.
Some of my other symptoms haven’t completely gone away, like they normally would. I am hoping it’s only because I am still worried about what’s going on with my eye and vision! I also have an upcoming neuro appt in a few weeks.

The eye doctor told me to come back in 6 weeks. I have a neuro appt before that. I feel as if my vision is getting worse. Should I try to go back before my neuro appt or just wait and see what the neuro says? Sounds like it could be connected to a central nervous system disease. I’m assuming things like that wouldn’t show up on a ct or mri. I’m pretty freaked out thinking about losing my vision and what could be causing this. Any ideas?

I wish I had muscle relaxers because it makes me wonder if the head pains would go away then!

Did your friend have a pale optic nerve, too? How did they figure out it was an issue from her contacts? Only one eye?
