Hey guys, sometimes day to day I receive out-of-place flashes. I jump and no one else reports anything. These flashed tend to be a couple milliseconds long and almost always are colored white. It doesn't blank out my entire vision, but almost everything goes white. Can someone please explain?

@Concernedgal may be right @Vykryotik and it could be PTSD. I get it as well, but it is a bit different to your experience. I'm having full blown movies of things that happened. I can even feel the same pain as I felt back then. Then I get mini flashes as well which may just be a picture or an image in my mind, like a flash, but it comes with pain like a thousand bullets hitting me all at once.

I recommend that you go and see your doctor and tell him, he will know what it could be and direct you to the right department to help sort it out.

No, I don't mean flashbacks to bad times. I mean I literally get my entire vision covered by a white light for a millisecond.

It still sounds like it is something you need to see your doctor about. It could be just a migraine, but your doctor would know for sure and send you to the right department to sort it out.

I have just googled it and you might find this link interesting. I think you will need to see your doctor asap if only to get the all clear.

Please see a physician. I am not sure what could be causing the flashes, but it could be something neurological. there could also be something wrong with the your eyes. Either way, they would run some tests to make sure you are okay.

Be well,
Jonathan

Jane is right. Being a hypochondriac, I went straight for the retinal detachment... I have been having headaches, all symptoms of a migraine. I have a classic I have discovered, searching for auras right now. Turns out the flashes are an aura.
