I have been battling depression and anxiety since college, and probably before. There are a wife and kids at home, with a house that seems to have it out for me. I will keep working to become the warrior.

Are you saying that your family seems to have it out for you? If so, that sure can make things miserable for you.

@Rinka thank you! It has been a rough 3 weeks with near constant panic attacks. Only sleeping brings any relief.

I’m sorry to hear that. Are you able to access any form of therapy or medication that might help you?

What options are you looking at or doing to battle those attacks? Sure sorry you're on such a bad streak.
So far, the only thing that worked was putting an ice pack right on my face and holding my breath. Otherwise, I wait them out. I am also meditating every day and writing in a journal - when I remember or have the energy. I think this might be stress-induced, so knocking things off my to-do list helps. Of course, I always find something new to replace it...sigh...

Two sessions into counseling/talk therapy. Currently on 40 mg fluoxetine and 0.25 mg clonazepam, as needed. Along with Clonidine to help with the panic attacks that jerk me awake. I am having a hard time getting into see a psychiatrist, so my primary is managing my meds. I had been very stable on the first two for years. Then I tried to kick them. This is the second time. Never again. The clonazepam becomes very sporadic when I feel good, but I will be on fluoxetine for the rest of my life it seems.

Hang in there! Medication does NOT equal failure - I struggle with thinking that way, too. But as a parent, too - we can feel GOOD about doing whatever it takes to get back to life and family. No shame in that.
