I didn't drink much water today and only ate 2 eggs and some bacon for breakfast. Then 5 hours later I just ate a cookie and had a coffee on a somewhat empty stomach and two hours after that I had this sudden, middle chest pain just below my sternum. It just suddenly appeared and happened only when I took breaths that were deeper than usual.

I was terrified. It was happening for like 15 minutes. I remembered that I had a coffee so I drank a lot of cold and warm water and ate some food and it went away. I am scared thinking about having a pulmonary embolism since I have pain in my right leg - the spot behind my right knee and the top of my lower calf. 6 months ago I went to my GP to ask about the possibility of a blood clot in my right leg since my calf has been hurting for 2 days and she told me it's unlikely since it's not swollen red and my D-Dimer test was negative. I'm freaking out at the possibility that I could actually have blood clots in my leg since I couldn't get a CT scan. But then again I have also been feeling heartburn when I go to bed at night so it might just be GERD.

Please someone calm me down or give share your stories. I've been freaking out about blood clots and pulmonary embolisms for the past 8 months. I'm too embarrassed to go to the doctor again. If it's heartburn, precordial catch syndrome or a muscle strain, my doctor will hate me. I can't show my face there if I'm not sick and it's just health anxiety again. I know this community isn't doctors. I just need something cause without this I have nothing.

Well.im certainly no doctor but it sounds like reflux to me . I've had a similar sounding pain often and my doc said it was reflux . That's just my experience, you should get yours checked by your doctor . Don't be embarrassed ! That's their whole job , to see you and diagnose and treat you . Maybe even a little reassurance along the way too !

Thank you for replying to my post. It helped me calm down. I'll just monitor my symptoms and see if it gets worse.

I sometimes get costrochodritis ( don’t know if that’s spelt right sorry) it’s harmless and causes pain in the chest, it’s inflammation of the cartilage. I’ve had it off and on for years. Not saying you have it but it’s worth reading about. Don’t worry it’s not dangerous

I no the exact pain you mean. I too think when I get it it's indigestion. I tend to get it for a few days then nothing for weeks. Sometimes I get the same shape pain next to my left armpit too.
