I was scrolling through Reddit, and a guy posted in the AskDocs subreddit about being diagnosed with terminal gallbladder cancer. I feel bad and selfish, because my immediate thoughts are “Should I be worried about this? Symptoms? How common is it? What age group and demographics does it usually affect?” when I know I should be more concerned about him and what this person is going through.
Seeing other people, especially close to my age, have such serious issues causes anxiety, and I’m not sure what to do about it. It’s not a Reddit specific thing. I’ll read stories and posts online, hear stories from friends and family, and other places. This subreddit is generally really helpful for getting explanations on different things and learning. It also provides some comedic value given the amount of ridiculous, usually non serious situations people get in.
