I do security for tv show and movie sets. Basically I make sure people don’t harass the actors or other crew members while filming is going on and then watch over the millions of dollars in equipment when they are done for the day. Right now I am doing closed set security for a tv show. The public isn’t allowed in but there are probably 100-200 workers (not
Including actors) that work on the set. I do mainly over night security and don’t really personally run into too many people. Well about a week ago one of the directors made Covid-19 testing mandatory for everyone that works on the set. Which includes me ofcourse. So Tuesday I went in for a test. Then Wednesday I went in for a follow up test because they wanted two in 24 hours to compare the samples. They said the results take 24-48 hours and they only call you if you are positive. I never got a call so I’m assuming that’s good. I also haven’t heard of a single person on the set having it. Which is also good. But all the talk about it has me obsessing. As I mentioned I do over night security. I am outside all night in upstate New York in a t-shirt walking the outside of the set. Last night about half way through my shift I can down with a mildly sore throat and I had (am still having) and absolute melt down. No fever or other issues but my throat is definitely bothered. My wife swears it’s just from being outside all night in low 50 degree weather but my mind doesn’t work that way. Even though I just had a test less then a week ago and tested negative I am convinced they missed that it was actually positive. I am convinced my sore throat is Covid. I am convinced it brought it home to my family. And I am convinced it’s only a matter of time until I can’t breathe at all and I die.
