I've had anxiety for several years but it got worse and i started feeling slightly off balance and now about a year and half has went by and I full blown am off balance/dizzy feeling all the time when walking or standing. It's not a normal kind of dizziness like with the room spinning. It's more like dizzy on the inside and in my head. My head gets heavy at the same time. I feel weird things on the inside when I'm walking, like dropping and movements or swaying. I constantly think about how I'm feeling when I walk and stand. I want to hold onto stuff, and when I do, like a shopping cart, it doesn't happen.
I can feel my body randomly dip or move forward all of a sudden on the inside while I'm walking. Sometimes it feels like I'm gliding. I look like I'm walking normally. Occasionally I feel the floor drop out beneath me or the floor feel bouncy. I get scared when I have to walk and stand now and I know that only makes it worse.
Does this happen to anyone else?

I have the same symptoms with my anxiety. Have you had panic attacks? Usually the dizziness and my fear of the dizziness can lead to a panic attack. I’m sorry your dealing with this symptom. It can be so scary... which is odd because it’s fear made worse by more fear.

Been through all of this many years ago. Comes with the whole anxiety thing. Could even be derealisation. That big name is another symptom of anxiety that makes you feel like you are at a distance from things when walking and the likes. Like looking down a tunnel at everything around you. I used to want to hold onto walls when out walking. If it is derealisation, it can simply come and go. No magic cure for it. With me it just vanished for good many years ago. As it was just another symptom of anxiety. And symptoms can change over time. Case of recognising it for it really is. Knowing that it can't kill you or even harm you. Once we accept that much a good few things simply just stop happening. Something we have to just keep working on.

Hi and welcome jaygo. I've gone to the doctor twice for walking/balance difficulties. The first time it seemed like the sidewalk was moving up and down as I walked and felt generally shaky and unbalanced. The second time my wife had to help me stay upright and steer me as walking was so difficult. Those two doctor's visits were 35 years apart and both doctors said it was from anxiety. Both times the symptoms decreased greatly as soon as I accepted the doctors' diagnosis of anxiety related symptoms.

I am having the same symptoms....its so aggravating. I thought it was something wrong. But since I see other people having the same issue.....also I think I am afraid of the dizzy spells I had in my office one day...... So now I think everytime Im in my office I am going to have one of those dizzy spells. I went to my doctor he said it was vertigo,...but I feel like something is always moving around in my head or i am off balance. I went out with a friend last night for drinks and stuff and it went away. I guess its because my mine was not focused on it. At work every second.

I also get this sometimes for me it feels like sloshing in my head. Almost like if you filled a balloon 1/4 with water and the rest with air. Gabbapentien use to do this to me real bad but I'm pretty sensitive to meds. It's just anxiety buddy it does crazy **** to our bodies.

It wasn't that bad today. My doctor prescribed me with Meclizine. I didn't want to take it but it helps. The off balance and dizziness usually worse in the morning but generally goes away in the afternoon and evening. But as soon as I take a shower it atarts and I can feel myself getting anxious and then the head thing starts. Can't wait for it to go away. Sheesh. Im on a computer all day which makes it worse. It's really a pain.

I used to get really dizzy after I took a shower. Not sure if it was anxiety related or not though. It eventually passed.

I also used to get it walking through department stores like Walmart.
