i swore since day one that I would never ever buy into the propaganda that is the fidget spinner. However, my anxiety has been off the goddamn charts lately so I'm getting a bit desperate because I'm picking at my skin again. In order to control this, I went out and bought a fidget cube today. I've been using it throughout the day and my anxiety hasn't lessened. I'm going to keep using it but wonder if anyone has ever tried the fidget cube in particular.

I haven't tried one of them yet. Then again I am too used to clicking my pen or pressing a sponge ball so I guess in a way, I always had some sort fidgeting things if I am at home. They never really relax me but they help me keep my hands from scratching myself and stuff while I try to just think up of a story to distract myself.

So if it keeps your fingers busy and away from your skin, I'd say to keep using it while you figure out what's making you feel so anxious. If it isn't working you might want to try different things until you find something that you like.

For me, I always had an issue to justify paying for a fidgeting toy so I started using hand grips. They are not exactly relaxers but since they required effort by me to close them it helped me shift my focus for a bit while using something that still counted as some sort of exercise.

Anyway, you keep experimenting and let us know your results. :)

Thanks for the reply! I must take back every bad thing I have said about the fidget cube because it totally rocked my world. I have bad coping skills that consist of picking at scabs on my head and the skin around and on my fingers. Whenever I feel the need to do this which is usually when I’m bored, I just pull out the cube and start pressing the buttons or spinning the gears. I usually grab it and use it without even noticing while I watch TV or am reading. Thanks again!

Haha. That's great news! I am very happy to hear you used it more it is actually useful for you. Must be pretty easy to keep it near too.

I like buying the four colour pens and mess with that but I switched to the ball because I know the sounds with the pen annoys some people. How noisy is your cube?

When I change shampoo brands I tend to get daendra so I can relate to the head scalp thing. Even if that doesn't last my habit of scratching there way after remains. I am sure I still have some weird quirks because rather than stopping mine I just swap them it seems.

The cube is relatively quiet because there are certain parts that are designed to be silent. I was actually sitting and watching TV the other day while using this spinner part of the cube and my brother mentioned it was distracting him so oops, but I switched to clicking the quiet buttons. Overall pretty good and hanks for your suggestion!

I actually have never heard of it before. It sounds like a good idea, especially if you pick at yourself when you are feeling anxiety. I don't think it would stop the anxiety but it would surely help to channel it in a different direction.
