This. It's totally placebo for me, with the fact that smelling the oils slows down my breathing. I love the smell of Lavender so there's a positive feeling associated with the experience of smelling oils, which I assume would also help.I love using oils, but in all honesty I'm skeptical that they are really doing much themselves. I often run the diffuser by my bed before going to sleep, and I think it helps mainly because it encourages me to breathe slowly and deeply. That's just my experience.
