Essential oils good for anxiety

I use essential oils to help with health anxiety. They can be expensive but sometimes calm me down. I use peace and calming, lavender, valor, grounding, or even peppermint. Does anyone else use essential oils? Does it work for you?

I love using oils, but in all honesty I'm skeptical that they are really doing much themselves. I often run the diffuser by my bed before going to sleep, and I think it helps mainly because it encourages me to breathe slowly and deeply. That's just my experience.

The coin would be in the air for me. If they really did work as people think, why are they not been suggested a lot more by doctors? I think you would really have to believe in Yoga, meditation and similar things to believe such oils work for anxiety. It is like various kinds of treatment you see videos of on you tube. Ones were you don't even have to be in the same country as the person doing the treatment. Is like they use a surrogate. Through them you get healed. Relaxing videos to watch. But how much truth is in there? You do have to pay for the sessions. Even though you are in another country. kinesiology. Either believe or you don't.

This. It's totally placebo for me, with the fact that smelling the oils slows down my breathing. I love the smell of Lavender so there's a positive feeling associated with the experience of smelling oils, which I assume would also help.

when i have a tension headache i apply peppermint oil on my neck, behind my ears, and on my temples. you're not supposed to apply the essential oil directly but i have been, and it helps tremendously with my headaches. it kind of gives a little burning sensation but its more comforting than the tenseness and aches from a tension headache.

I love essential oils, I don’t always use it in my defuser, I’ll just open the lid and smell it. eucalyptus is the best one for my anxiety. It’s very strong and nice. I like lavender but it’s not ever strong enough for me! I need something that can punch me in the face with the smell to help me not be so focused on my stress
