Hi there, I've looked up some statistics that I hope may help.
65 million people worldwide suffer from epilepsy, and 1.2% citizens in the US have active epilepsy.
There are risk factors that contribute to the probability. Namely: If you were born small for your age, have cerebral palsy, autism etc. It is also more common in young children and the elderly. I could not find relationships between jobs and epilepsy being triggered by them.
Genetics play a role. 30% to 40% of epilepsy is caused by genetics.
Little is known about life expectancy, since some people's epilepsy is brought on by separate syndromes. An epileptic episode is rarely fatal.

Hii.
I myself have epilepsy but its just absence seizures, so I don't really have actual seizures where my body jerks or anything, its basically just crazy electrical impulses happening in my brain all the time without me knowing, but I take medication for it so the issue is under control. If you had epilepsy, you most likely would have been diagnosed when you were little, and its not possible to just randomly develop it later in life. You can always go for an EEG which is a scan of your brain waves, but i guarantee it would come out perfect unlike mine lol :) and that eye pain you feel is definitely just eye strain, last night i was suffering from it horribly from looking at my laptop screen. So yes, its safe to say you have nothing to worry about !! :)
