Anesthesia awareness is VERY rare on a percentage basis. Are they putting you under for your procedure?
Not really, just a "what if?" that popped up in my brain. I'm not actually undergoing surgery anytime soon. But just the idea of this was horrifying.
I have to tell myself that my fears are OKAY, they are part of me, accept then, and not let them run my life. I will show up Monday, for example. I might pass out before I make it in there, but that's ok. There is a scene where a little boy is terrified of death, so Bob gives him something new to be afraid of instead - Tourrettes Syndrome. (probably spelling that wrong) Maybe we need a new thread where we all post new things to be afraid of things that are REALLY unlikely, to get our mind off our obsessive thinking. Like...a rare spider sound only in a certain part of the world. I could handle that fear! LolHi Hurt. How'd you get to have the surgery scheduled so soon? I bet you're both elated and scared to the max. Keep in touch as you handle the anxiety over the weekend and Monday morning. Heck, let us know how the surgery is going if get amnesia awareness. Just kidding Kelculator, that won't happen because it's truly, truly rare. Probably more rare than winning a lottery jackpot, absolutely more rare than getting struck by lightening. But, if Hurt&Hopeful is that unlucky, posting us will take her mind off of the situation. So hide your phone under that sexy surgical gown just in case.

hahahahaha Oh man, the surgical gowns. Blech. @Kelculator - another thing. Sometimes I hate the internet - don't read this stuff!!!! Lol If you have a test tomorrow, is it possible that you're actually nervous or stressed about that, and your brain is redirecting to THIS because it's more manageable? Like, less likely to actually be a problem? That's perfectly natural if it is. Take a break from studying and have a cup of tea, maybe do some stretches, get your body out of whatever clenched position it's probably in ... Before wrecking my leg, I was (badly) doing some at-home yoga in the evenings just to get some of the toxic tension out. It makes me feel SO much better. I'm 40 and overweight, and still able to do most parts - I skip what I can't and just breathe. Have you ever tried something like that? To slow your mind down? Actually, if you go on YouTube and search for 'Yoga for Panic Attacks', you'll find some good guided stuff to just bring you DOWN a bit from that panic place. I did that a while back when I went on a trip and was unable to leave my room - it got me up, dressed, and out the door. Not miraculously calm, but better.
