It seems to me that there are a lot of people that think that just because something is illegal, they automatically assume that it must be bad for you, without actually looking into it for themselves. If people did take the time to research what Marijuana can do to a person positively, they will then start to realise that it's actually helped a lot more people than they first think. Like I said before, I'm not saying that it's going to help everyone to overcome their anxiety, but for the people that I know that have used it, they have found it beneficial and that is a fact, whether you like it or not.

Don't believe everything you read and hear in the media, and my guess is that with it becoming legal in more and more states these days, it won't be long until the positive stories surrounding marijuana will start to come to the surface more and more.

I used weed when I was a young boy, and from that time it was past approximately 15 years. But I had not problems with anxiety in that period and my adventure with the weed was only a youthful foolishness. I would recommend everyone to visit a doctor, if he has any medical problem, because using some kind of drug might harm and even significantly undermine one's health condition. If the weed helps someone that does not necessarily mean that it is a universal cure for all. Regardless of my crazy youth, I am strongly against all sorts of drugs now, and I would never use one again.

While I'm not going to say that marijuana saved her life, she did try it and after having only maybe two joints a day for a week, she did actually start to feel better about herself and life in general. Her anxiety was almost zero and she's been smoking it ever since. she is still regulating herself to one joint in the morning and one in the early evening, and she's been doing that for a number of years now and the improvement in her as been remarkable.
Weed helps me too and I don't mind admitting that. There have been times when I have been suicidal and if I can smoke a joint when I am feeling like that it takes the thoughts away from me completely. So weed has saved my life too like it did your friend.

Instead of me feeling suicidal and having dark thoughts, I space out and wonder in awe at the birds or the beauty of the clouds or something. It relaxes me and I don't feel anxious when I smoke it.

It has a different effect on some people though so I wouldn't recommend taking it if you have any fears at all. Some people can have psychotic effects and other maybe feel no different while others get to experience the nice part of it. Rather like peanuts, some people can enjoy them while others may get an allergic reaction and it make them sick.

I only smoke at the weekends because I find that when I space out I don't feel like doing much. I find that if I am anxious and I don't have any I get irritable and stressed. Knowing that I can have some at the weekend keeps me going. Regulating it is sensible, I'm using it as a medication rather than an opt out.

If anyone hasn't taken it before and wants to try it, I would not recommend trying it on your own. Be with a trusted someone who can help you if by rare chance it has a negative effect.;)

I have to say that weed did not help my anxiety it made it even worse to be honest. I had a break down due to the side effects. I almost broke up with my partner and had even weeks after increased anxiety and panic attacks. But I guess it's because I have deeper issues that came to the front, that I am usually good at hiding. In the end I guess everyone needs to find for themselves what's best and what not.
Weed is definitely not for me.

The cheif ingredient in Marijuana is thc. A mild form of acid. From what I read it appears to secrete more sarotonin. I have never myself tried it however I do know people who have and i don't believe it should be illegal. You tell me. How can Marijuana be bad for you and anti depressants be good for you? One will eventually cause liver and kidney damage and God knows what else. It's a plant for God sakes, one that God himself put on this earth. Although if you suffer from bipolar disorder your system is going to take it differently. Your system will do the opposite of its intended purpose. Of anything.. I say live and let live. It may not be my cup of tea but. If you find something that helps your anxiety and depression. .. go for it.

No, it absolutely doesn't. The relaxing and spaced out feeling you get from marijuana is very largely an illusion and is short lived. You also only really get that feeling when you're in a familiar surrounding with people you are comfortable with. If you take yourself out of that situation and put yourself in circumstances which are much more overwhelming in which you can't relax properly, the high from the marijuana can cause you to become very self-conscious, anxious and paranoid. It seems to affect you more. Additionally, in the long-term marijuana exacerbates anxiety and can even be the root cause of anxiety and paranoia. I also speak partly from personal experience. I was a long-term user of marijuana and I did genuinely believe that it was helping my anxiety but after many years I realized that it was actually making it worse and that it was just a temporary illusion, a kind of way of comforting myself but once I stopped and it was out of my system it was only then that I began to realize how it had truly been affecting me. I definitely do not recommend it, especially with the huge increase in the potency of marijuana over the course of the last ten years. Marijuana now has much higher levels of THC than it used to and it's the THC which has been found to be the main cause of paranoia and can even lead to schizophrenia in some cases though quite rare.
I disagree. Why would it make things wrost? I'm not saying that in some people may react negativelyto it, but, you have to understand brains are as different as people are and you just can't definitely say that it makes things wrost. You just cant. Smoking isn't necessarilymy cup of tea but, I don't judge people that it does work for. So let's just agree to disagree. And there is no evidence that support your claim of causing mild schizophrenia, ,if that is the case though ... it has to be in combination with other drugs.

The more I hear of people having an adverse effect from weed, the more I understand about it. As it does affect some people in a negative way, maybe it should be illegal? I heard of some people thinking they can fly on it and ended up jumping out of a window. I don't know if the story is true or not, and I always found it hard to believe these horror stories about a plant. But some plants are not good for us.

God said to try out everything, and if we found it to be good to keep it, and if it wasn't good to discard it. I've found weed to be beneficial to me in regulated doses. Therefore I keep it and use it sparingly. I wouldn't recommend anyone to start it though. Smoking is bad for you. It can be eaten, added to cakes for example. But even then, I wouldn't recommend someone to start it anew. You may ask why a smoker doesn't encourage pot smoking? It is because of its illegality and adverse effects that it has on the few. Don't ever try it fi9rst time without someone being beside you. Just in case.

Because of my condition, I have been open and honest with my doctor and told him that I sometimes smoke it. It helps me, it has saved my life time and time again. Yet chemical man made pills threatened my life once as I took an overdose.

In a way.. I agree with you. It's like all mushrooms aren't created equal. Some are good for you and some are poison. You have to realize i'm not trying to say and weed is top notch or anything i'm just trying to say if it helps a person.. then leave them alone. I believe though that it should be considered a medication and a prescription should be obtained.

It depends on the person. It definitely helps with a lot of people. I have several friends who use weed to mellow out and de-stress. Other people it can actually freak them out though. Also you can get a bad batch just like anything else, especially if you get it from someone shady who might have mixed in other ingredients or made it "harder".

a good point there. Sometimes it can be laced. It's a crying shame too. They probably think it's a joke too.

This is why it would be a better idea for it to be legalised and regulated. If it was monitored then those who are prescribed it can be sure that it is not mixed with anything. The other point is that if it were monitored and regulated then those who use it wouldn't have to mix with those kind of people who do naughty things.

I don't do other kinds of drugs, yet I know that some places where I have got it from, do take other kinds of dangerous drugs. They used to call me the 'cup of tea lady' because they considered me so straight laced because I wouldn't take or try anything else on offer.

As you said @janemariesayed, a lot does depend on the actual issue that the person as got whether or not weed helps or not. If you are suffering from anxiety or mental health problems due to something happening in your life that you haven't got help for, and your still carrying that baggage around with you then weed will make things worse. It will make you think about things more than ever before and could make you feel worse about yourself so you do have to make sure that you have dealt with everything that needs dealing with before you try it.

If you have a clear conscience and have fought your demons and are just left feeling a little anxious then it can help. If your mind is at peace with who you are then it just makes you see life in a better way. Something that you won't be able to do if you haven't already dealt with the other issues before you start taking it.

I beg to differ. I've been carrying around this incest and child abuse suitcase for more than 50 years. As with anything you carry for a long time, it gets heavier and heavier. When I am straight I feel anxious. I get irritable too and for no reason. Yet when I take a little pot it relaxes me completely. I float off into another world and even see that things are not so bad.

I do agree with you 100%, however, that it is not right for everyone. I found it very hard to accept that it would have an adverse effect on some people but that is the way it is. I've seen online, and in real life that many people have actually had adverse effects from using it which is why I accept that now. So I think you are right when you say that people should sort their head out before taking it. Myself though, when I take it I don't think of my woes. My woes come to mind when I am straight.

I have flashbacks too and I have noticed that I don't get flashbacks when I smoke a little. I even asked my doctor if there was a hemp pill that would help me but without the high, and sadly he told me there wasn't! What a shame. If I could only get a pill that is not made from a chemical and that I didn't have to smoke it, that would be great!

There is another way which is relatively close to smoking. It's about CBD hemp products. Smth like https://www.botahemp.com/ or any other. As far as I know marijuana contains THC which is actually considered a drug. However, THC percentage in hemp oil is very-very low (since marijuana isn't equal to hemp), while CBD share is rather high. It means that CBD oil won't make you high but will make you relax. You can try (I haven't yet).
