They're a great source of distraction for me. I'm hooked onto those things, though lately I've been dropping a lot mainly for the reason of female main characters being treated like crap, yet stalking/abuse/unbelievable condescension/borderline or actual rape is the key to eternal love. Or that's exactly what true love is. Dear lord.

Erm, that subject aside, my favorites are: The Human Emperor and Princess Wei Yang. One is about a reborn girl getting revenge without the use of super powers, just her viciousness and smarts, while the other is about a reborn guy using his brains to win wars. The Human Emperor especially appeals to me because I do love me a smart dude that whips out schemes and strategies like there's no tomorrow, and the story includes super powers but the author doesn't spend every last blessed chapter writing about the character leveling up and detailing their powers. A lot of martial arts/super power stories seem to be about nothing BUT that, just level up, details, level up, details, level up, details.

Romance is practically nonexistent in The Human Emperor too, the only sign of it being girls that get jealous/mad at the main character even though he made absolutely no promises, signs, words, etc. that he's romantically interested in any of them, yet they view him as their property. (He himself is oblivious to this.) The arcs about each war is super long, though, and most female characters are presented as being haughty and self-important to the point where I want to face plant into the nearest desk. Thankfully for my face they're not mentioned very often.

I really like To Be a Virtuous Wife too, but I can't figure out why. Everything in it is very casual walk-in-the-park compared to other stories I've read. Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattacks is another that I enjoy because watching (er, reading?) different bad guys get a huge bite of karma in the ass is very satisfying. The main character doesn't get the job done by being a violent self-centered idiot every time either.

If you do enjoy Chinese web novels like me, I'd recommend going to novelfull.com. They have tons of stuff, the occasional Korean/Japanese web novel, and it's all for free. Don't need to sign up or anything.

I'm actually Chinese myself, but I do not favor novels in any specific language. I'm so glad you enjoy chinese novels so much! I don't have much recommendations myself because I'm not the biggest reader, but I'll be sure to check out the novels you suggested.

I actually read the translated-into-English versions because language master I am not. As for other languages, I only like Tensei Shitara Slime (forgot the rest of long title) for Japanese web-novels. Except for a few exceptions they all seem to be the same (over-powered protagonist in fantasy world OR villainess noble girl), and for some reason I can't find many in Korean or from other foreign countries. I guess they don't write many online books? Either that or I'm looking in the wrong sites.
