Doctors have found something and i am terrified

First of all sorry for my English..

So i went today for a rheumatology visit because my back is killing me. I mentioned that i also have very bad pelvic pain and cramps.

They did an XRay of my spine (sorry i dont know the exact term for that) and the doctor said that altough my back and spine are fine there is "something" in my bowel area. She also suspiciously looked at my lung area.
Unfortunately there were no other doctor (radiologist) who could examine the picture so i dont have a diagnosis until next week. The doctor said she is a rheumatologyst so she can't say anything it is not her field but something is definitely there.

I am very very stressed out cuz it's like a bad dream coming true. I am sure i have bowel cancer which has spread to my lungs.. If that is the truth i only have months to live How can I stand this thought until next week???

I am very mad at myself cuz i had a polyp 6 years ago which was removed. I should have gone for a control visit long ago!

Ok, first off. That doctor is right. It’s not their expertise, so they can’t tell you because what if it’s something they “think” it is, and freak you out and it’s not that.
Also, if they thought it was something bad, they wouldn’t wait until next week,

It's actually not uncommon at all for incidental findings to appear during diagnostic imaging tests. I agree with jetplane, the doctor is right in telling you they can't make any diagnosis because it isn't their expertise. Many people experience benign, incidental findings like this - purely by chance. No big deal, it happens.

Do your due diligence to follow up, but you don't need to worry unless a medical professional provides reason to.

On the flip side of this, ask yourself: WHAT IF it is NOT what you think it is? Then what is all the unnecessary worry and stress going to accomplish?

Thank you for your question, I try to hold myself together and be positive. But i still have a bad feeling you know what if... And I remember the X ray picture and that "something" there.. Ugh.. So i have ups and downs already.

The thing is I have persistent night sweats for months and that worries me as well.. I told the doctor too ofc.

Oh. I totally get you. I myself am going through a HA episode as well. I have my moments. I understand you.
I know you’re so focused on the bad, but there are a lot of benign reasons you can be feeling that and yes, the doctor may have seen something but it doesn’t mean it’s something bad. Remember that.
If it was bad, and even though it’s not their expertise, they would have called in someone to review them ASAP.
Pray. God is good. Give God your worries.

Hi there, I know the waiting is too long and hard on you, but try to distract yourself meanwhile as much as you can.

X-rays tend not to give detailed info about that "something" is sinister or not.
If it was a MR pic or CT result they saw something suspicious, that would raise alarm maybe (not still 100% certainly).
I've once got a strange thing showing in my spine film, to this day it's still a mystery and guess what, I am still alive. It was 3 years ago.
I agree with BigJet, they are investigating it to make sure everything is alright there, not because they are suspecting that that "something" is sinister.

Guys do you think a stool could be seen in an X ray as a shadow? The doc said it is really not her expertise to say what it is.. But she said it could be many different things like..a stool that stuck in.. (i dont know how to put this in English sorry again).

I resisted the urge to google it.. to google anything basically.
I feel like I need to google this but instead I ask here..

I don't sleep well because of the stress.

How’s the weather at night? How bad does it get? Do you have to change clothes and sheets? Are you drenched?

The weather is perfect in the room not too hot. It all started exactly 1 year ago with drenching night sweats. I had to change sheets and clothes 2 times during the nights. I visited my GP who sent me to various tests: chest X-Ray, blood work, ultrasound of thyroid and the abdominal area, gynecologist, internal medicine... by the end of May pretty much everything had been investigated. The sweating stopped around March but it keeps reappearing 3-4-5 days / months. Sometimes it is very bad just like at the beginning and I have to change clothes. Sometimes my legs and chest are wet but I am not drenching. I stopped caring about it last May.. they said it must be some kind of stress and I believed the doctors. Now I blame myself for not contiuning the investigation about this issue.

I had a horrible night dreaming about possible tumors.. I woke up with wet clothes again.. and I still have bad pelvic cramps
While I am waiting for the results (health system is slow in this country) I am gonna go for a private ultrasound to check my abdominal area.

Yes, the night sweats. I feel like being overly stressed and anxious can definitely trigger the night sweats.
It’s going to be ok, don’t worry friend.
Also with the other issue you’re worried about, it’s going to be ok. This is just another HA episode.

If you are around that stage of your life where you start having hormonal imbalance, than this explains a lot.
You said 3-4 days a month for a year or so. Which days of your cycle? If the night sweat days are before and very close to your period, then yes, the reason is hormonal changes.
My aunt had horrible night sweats for a couple of days every month when she was in her perimenopausal stage, and some women may go in to that stage earlier than others in life.
