I had a same attack 2 months ago during my exams due to stress and it broke me down. A pet unvaccinated cat scratched me And I got the PEP after that. That cat is still alive and well. It was like trigger for me. I started thinking about my own pet cat who
Passed away last year. He was bitten by a dog and he did go to the doc but still passed away. He didn’t show any traditional symptoms of rabies like hydrophobia ( he was sitting on his bowl of water the day he died) or being erratic ( he was very lethargic) I think my father even checked him to see if he attacked or behaved in that way but nothing happened. My mother told me that the day he passed away he would still use litter and the night before he was still eating his treats. We also gave him some meds the day he died and he drank them. The vet he went to I called him and told him about the symptoms and he said he didn’t have rabies and we didn’t need vaccine. After all that I forgot about it and moved on with my life until that other cat scratched me and all hell broke lose.
I still pulled through this and took my meds but stopped as soon as meds started working and my anxiety went away. But it’s back now since 3 days and I feel like it’s worse than before. I keep having weird thoughts and feel like I’ll go crazy. I keep drinking water to check if I can swallow to the point of puking. I also feel really dizzy and out of it. I was using Facebook recently and I saw that I had 3 message requests. It confused me for awhile but I didn’t care and than after few hours I checked again and it said 4 ( without any new message received). This again has triggered me. Everything I do triggers me to think that this is the symptom or I’ll soon develop symptoms.Idk what to do anymore.

The rabies fear sucks. I just came out of a spiral. Pretty dang safe bet that you don’t have rabies. Nothing about any of the animals you mentioned even really hints at rabies

I hope it happens, it’s been the same since I posted, got even worse. I feel like I’ll have the symptoms soon and the worse thing is I Googled the symptoms again and it just made everything 10x worse and also a video popped up on YouTube of a man manifesting the symptoms and I feel like I’ll be like him soon. I keep feeling like I’m having symptoms and I feel them but idk if they are real.I don’t have any sore throat or pain. I haven’t had hydrophobia yet but I still keep drinking water even from the bathroom taps if I run out… idk what to do

In all the years I have been on forums like this one, in all the post I have ever seen about rabies, nobody actually ever really had it. And I have been around many forums for many years now.

Yes because it's actually not easy to contract that virus. The virus itself is extremely fragile. Even after getting bitten for real if you wash the wound with lots of soap under running water, it will kill the virus. It can't live outside of the saliva for more than 10-20 seconds so even a dog licks a surface the virus will quickly die. So it needs to contact directly from saliva to blood. So a cat or dog brushing you with their body will not cause rabies. it requires a fresh saliva to blood contact. Like if you have an open wound and the dog comes and licks it, yes, then that's a concern. These are the information I gathered long time ago from doctors and two vet friends when I was bitten many years ago.
These being said, if you have a rabies worry always ask a professional's opinion asap but don't freak out unless you are actually bitten. They know what to do.
No doctor will send a potential rabies case back home without vaccine. It's no joke.
