Pretty sure this is a common thing but cloudy days make me feel so depressed, I can't stand it. Since it's winter here, it's usually cloudy more than sunny. I usually find that depending on what's going on in my life, when it's cloudy, my anxiety is usually up and my mood isn't this best. Weird yet intriguing how the weather can affect us

Yes. I told someone the other day that all anxiety/depression sufferers should just move to Florida and set up a community. LOL

What sometimes gives me the blues isn't so much cloudy and overcast skies. Instead, it's frigid temperatures that I don't like.

I personally love cloudy days and rain. I don't know, it just makes me more relaxed. However, whenever it's sunny I do feel more motivated to push through and get out there. Like mentioned above, cold temperatures actually make me more depressed than cloudy weather.

I like living in Maine, United States. However, winters here are frigid. That's one drawback for me living in Maine.

As I live in Ireland, we get a hell of a lot of cloudy days. Something you get used to. No choice realy. Though a weird / sad stat is that Ireland has the highest male suicide rate in EU per capita. Is that down to the clouds or our piss poor weather? Hard to really know why. We can go a month or two with rain, Our sun is nothing much to talk about. Lucky if we get a Summer. So a lot of gloomy days.

I'm fortunate to live in a part of the U.S. that gets a fair amount of sunny days throughout the year. I'm not so sure I'd want to live in an area that gets a ton of cloudy days.

To me, the worst combination is overcast skies and frigid temperatures at the same time, although it's the cold temps that really get me, like I mentioned earlier.

I was just talking about that yesterday it was raining all day. It was dark, gloomy and depressing here inside the house then I went outside it seemed so beautiful even with all the rain and clouds. I ended up grabbing my weights and exercising outside and felt so much better after.

Yes, it definitely affects my mood, some days more than others. Where I live we'll go through periods without a lot of rain (reasonable, not drought conditions), nothing but sunshine. And other times it'll be cloudy, dreary and/or rainy for what feels like an eternity, it just won't let up. Those cloudy / rainy days seem to drain my energy and they make me feel a little less enthusiastic overall.

It's even worse during winter because 1) the cold temps combined with clouds / rain, but also 2) everything is "dead & gray" outside. Trees are without leaves or other signs of life, grass is brown with patches of dull green, less wildlife, etc. That also brings my mood down a bit.

Yes!!! Winter is like very long, very cold and very snowy here. Today it is gray, cold and snowing like crazy. Been in a rough stretch of late with worsening depression. Today’s snow is making things much worse. I feel like it will be weeks before I see the sun or grass again.

During the summer, I like an occasional rainy day. But not rainy weather that lasts several days in a row.

I used to find days on end of cloudy, stormy days seriously saddened and blackened my mood, but since I took up bird watching, those are the better days to be out and about in nature so I find myself less influenced in the negative about them and more in the positive.

Snowing again. So sick of looking at those ugly snow piles everywhere. Can’t remember the last sunny, pleasant dya we had. It really sucks to be stuck in one of the very few places with snow on the ground much of the time and the constant threat of more snow. I don’t really even mind if it is just cold...it is the snow I cannot handle.

Bring the sunshine indoors.
If you have extra money buy a grow tent and plant some tomatoes and any other veggies or fruit you like.

Very low mood today. Couldn’t possibly be any more gray and gloomy outside. And yes, more snow. Cannot just stay curled up in bed today either...have things to do today and I have to go out and deal with it. Crowds everywhere combined with miserable weather...means it probably won’t go well for me.

Of course, just because a day is sunny doesn't mean that I'll be happy on that day, ha, ha. But the sunshine does help, I will say that much.

Unmotivated and miserable today, looks like it will be another unproductive work day. Snowing again and the misery of snow, cold and grey skies makes my already bad mood even worse. Honestly, what also really gets me going is that my area is one of the few places to have bad winters. Yes, it snows elsewhere but it melts within a day or so. Here, snow piles everywhere still exist from the last storm...about to get much bigger now. Can’t stand them or living here in such an awful place.

Have you ever thought about moving?
I'm from The Mile High city and have lived in other states that don't have snow Phoenix and Tucson Arizona are very nice.
Snowy days don't seem to bother me.
Just got to accept today and make the best of it.

Constantly thinking about moving, I even know where I want to move to. Ironically, the city I want to go to isn’t a “warm weather” place, it is in a neighboring state just a few hours away. The winters there are much less harsh and they hardly get any snow compared to here. Another storm is coming and lots more snow, worried about how I am going to handle it. Didn’t take last night’s minor snowfall well and this one is going to be worse.
