Do blood tests rule things out?

Help! So much anxiety and not sure what else to have them test for. I have had so many blood tests. CBC, saturation, etc. I still can't get past this. I have a swollen lymph node in my groin. Doc said if it was the C word, it would have shown up in my blood, most likely. Also, I am waking up a little bit sweaty and not sure if it is considered a night sweat. It is under my boobs and a bit on my neck. Nothing is soaked, just damp. Anyone know if this is a night sweat? I am getting an ultrasound today, but scared. Do blood test rule things out?

Try not to worry if you had any kind of cancer that effects the lymph nodes yes it would show up in bloodwork, all of your bloodwork would be out of wack and not just slightly it would be way off. I know this cause my grandma had lymphoma and night sweats you would be soaked every night in wet sweat not just mildly, and not just one lymph node would be swelled multiple one would be and you would keep a low grade fever. So try not to worry your bloodwork was normal if you keep trimmed and shaved in the bikini area it could be an ingrown hair causing the swelling.

I have an online chart reporting system, so oftentimes my chart updates before the doctor has a chance to call me. which leaves a lot of interpretation up to me, and we all know how that goes. It said that they viewd 5 lymph nodes that had slightly increased blood flow to them. Not sure what that means but I have a feeling if I Google it I'm not going to be okay. Is that there are no soft tissue masses and no hernia.because I went in so late, I now have to try and get through the night without freaking myself out.

first things first, i'm sorry you're going through this. many of us know how bad HA can get when it comes to test results and referrals. second, please refrain from doing internet research. it most certainly won't do any good. leave interpreting test results to your doctor. i too have online access to my medical records which almost always means i get test results before my doctor. i know how incredibly hard it is not to look, but highly advise against it... and this is exactly why... because we know just enough about this sort of stuff to get us in trouble but not enough to actual understand what any of it means. i would call your doctor's office and explain how much anxiety you're having and ask them to have your doctor call you to discuss the results with you.

I guess the problem with cancer is that it seems so common in this day and age - I think pretty much everyone knows at least one person affected by it - that its super hard to think you don't have it or are at risk of developing it.

The thing is though, you have to look at the statistical data in relation to the bigger picture. Only one in three people would develop cancer in their lifetime and most people who do have it is due to their genetics. Like my great aunt, cancer runs horribly in her family and she and all her siblings have it. Its scary, but at the same time you gotta understand that cancer is still really rare and you have a higher chance of dying in a car accident.

Also, when it comes to making diagnoses all willy nilly based off one symptom and something you read of someones personal experience, its kind of like taking a huge mathematical equation, seeing a tiny part of that equation like 2+2 then adding it up and getting 4 as your answer when in reality you haven't even begun to do the proper maths to calculate the right answer...basically you're jumping to conclusions based on nothing. Illnesses are complex and medicine is not cookie cutter, pls bear this in mind <3
