Distorted flashes in right eye

I know this isn’t the place for a diagnosis but I’m unable to go to a hospital or visit a doctor. My family does not believe me when I say anything is wrong with me if I do not have physical signs. So a hospital is out of question right now.

I had these distortions in my right eye. They were like squiggly lines that would move every time I tried to get my eye to catch them. It felt kind of like a neon light was seared into my eye and I kept seeing it even as I closed my eyes. It’s like a vibrating distortion but my eye doesn’t hurt. It’s just disconcerting.

Of course google told me I was having an early symptom of a stroke. It also told me I was losing vision. If it helps, I’m fresh from a mild anxiety attack about another issue so I wondered if this was a sign of my anxiety or if something is really happening in my eye. Any advice is appreciated.

EDIT: it has since stopped. i still don’t know what it was but i took a hot bath and relaxed and it was gone. im hoping it was just a physical manifestation of my anxiety.

Hi daysinthesun. Here's my "diagnosis". You have what are generically called floaters. There's a scientific name but I forgot what it is. I've had them for many years. It's almost like there is a small hair "floating" in your eye. I specifically made an extra trip to the eye doctor for it and he said they are harmless but annoying at times and no treatment for them. They come and go but most days and even weeks they aren't in my vision.
Anxiety doesn't effect them (if that's your problem), some folks get them and most don't.

Could be a migraine aura. If it lasted about 20-30 minutes and moved off to the outside of your eye and disappeared, that’s what it probably it. I get them sometimes when I am under considerable stress. Fortunately, I’ve only gotten the headache that can sometimes accompany it twice.
