Hello all, for months now I've been scared of many health problems but now something has popped back up that is driving me insane. I recently learned I have asthma and now anytime I have a simple cold even I become very scared that I will get pnuemonia and die. I also have a horrible fear of the flu even though I'm vaccinated I'm scared of catching it and dying. Idk what to do anymore I just feel extremely scared of catching a respiratory illness. Even a cold because I got strep throat from a cold last time.

Hi @Briar sorry to hear of what you are going through.
I do not have asthma but since I had bad pneumonia as a child, I am very sensitive towards any infections in regards to the respiratory tract.
Therefore, when it’s getting colder outside or I have the feeling that I’m a bit more vulnerable, I start wearing a scarf. That’s the first thing to do for me. Keeping my neck warm and keeping myself warm.
Second thing, drink hot tea and/or hot lemon (real lemon) with honey. I also always make sure that I am taking enough vitamins vitamin C and especially vitamin D.

This should help easing the risk of catiching anything, but also help if you already have something .

Covering your chest and neck when the weather isn't very nice would certainly help to prevent colds and flu and chesty illnesses. You are right that you should be vigilant but don't let it take over your thoughts.

Always cover yourself up, and drink a regular cup of hot water with natural honey and lemon. Try not to worry about it too much, as long as you take care you should be okay.
