Hi,

I’ve had a sore throat on and off for a couple days. Today, it is worse and staying, then got a headache and body aches. Slight cough. Checked my temp and low grade fever. Started panicking. I have a question though about the fever....does anyone know if an ear thermometer runs higher? I checked with an ear thermometer and that is the one that was showing a low grade fever. Then I took it with 4, yes FOUR other oral thermometers. 2 said 97 something and the other two said 98 something. So, how am I supposed to know which is correct? I am a single mother of an 11 year old daughter and have suffered with anxiety since I was little. I am terrified! Please, anyone help me through this?

Yes, ear runs typically higher
I think that normal ear temp is 100.6? Don’t quote me on that

Among adults, the average body temperature ranges from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C). When you do have a fever that's just your immune system kicking in and fighting the infection. Remember when you are sick rest is important but getting up and moving around is just as important it helps to keep the lungs strong. Take a Tylenol, suck on a cough drop, drink plenty of water and monitor how you feel check temperature etc that's about all you can do unless you decide to go to the ER. I would drink tea, eat garlic, if you have any lemons squeeze one and drink the juice . I hope you start feeling better, hang in there.

Thank you! I have been eating garlic for a while now with all this stuff going on. May not help but don’t think it will hurt. I appreciate your response. It means more than you know!

Remember, before you worry... that with the antibodies test that was just recently published, that NY actually has closer to approximately 2.7 million cases rather than 250,000 or whatever the current is there.
Why is this a good thing? People are developing an immunity to it from exposure. It also means the mortality rate is MUCH lower than was initially thought. Many of us already knew that though.
Also, garlic isn’t a problem. You probably already know it’s an antiviral. I eat it raw and talk about hot!
I’ve also been taking A LOT of vitamin C. The mainstream news says it won’t help... but, if it doesn’t hurt you, what’s the harm in using it? FDA afraid people won’t need them? Who knows.

I'm in NY, it's estimated that 20 something % of people in the city may have been infected. None of these numbers are hard and fast yet, they change every day. We are a loooooong way to immunity still.
