Do you sometimes experience having cold sweating in your palm hand and soles of your foot when you are worrying, fearing and thinking of something that disappoint or upset you? Does having cold feet and cold hand is related to these emotional feelings that sometimes we are going through in our life? What are thoughts about this thing?

Oh goodness, yes. Almost always the palms of my hands get clammy when I'm very very panicky about something -- especially if I'm standing up to someone or talking in front of a large group. I've never really been given a helpful explanation from a doctor or therapist either one, as to why exactly it happens. But I know it almost always happens in conjunction with pounding heart, actually FEELING adrenaline coursing through me, and vision blurring.

As I mentioned, this is almost always in social situations for me. Do you find that you have cold sweating occur during non-social situations too? Just curious. And I'd definitely also be interested in if anyone else knows why it happens / what in our mental processes causes this particular reaction to stress?

Our body sweats to keep it cool especially when we are in a warm environment or have over exerted ourselves. But the body sweats more when it reacts to stress or anxiety. The more stressed or anxious we are, the more sweat is produced to cool and temper the body down. This sweat often feels cool and in extreme occasions, cold instead of warm. If cold sweating occurs frequently, then it might be something else. That is what we have to be watchful of. When this happens, it is best to ask a doctor.

Yeah... always, always. I always get incredibly cold and clammy hands and feet, and it's one thing that drives me nuts. What's worse is that it feels like my hands are very "thin", which increases my anxiety... however, I learned that it's a natural bodily response, and reminding myself that this is relatively "normal" helps with grounding me and letting the initial symptoms and feelings fade away. I actually recommend researching and looking into the fight and flight mechanism - understanding how an anxiety attack actually "works" helps a lot!

Actually I do not know also why this cold sweating is happening to me when I am nervous, worrying and disappointed. I remembered when I was still younger my mother bring me to a relative doctor why I am like this. She said I had no any medical ailment. And she said it is only in my mind and I should avoid thinking negative thoughts. Sometimes since the soles of my foot was sweating there are instances where my slippers was always been left while I was walking because of too much wetness and I am always ashamed because of that. Now that I am older this thing had lessened already and as much as possible I just try to control my negative emotions so that I will not suffer this cold sweating anymore..

My mother had bring me to a relative doctor when I was still younger but she said that I am not suffering from any medical illness. She just advised me to avoid thinking negative and always have that positive thoughts in my mind. Our body reacts to our emotions and the same with our body processes. It does not occur frequently it is only when I am worried and had fears in my mind. There is nothing to worry about.

After reading all your comments now I knew that I am not the only one who is encountering this cold sweating. And you are absolutely right that the best thing we can do is to research and look how can we fight this body mechanism.

No, I don't get clammy hands. I do however, when I am anxious get a scare that passes through the pit of my stomach. I might sweat a little, but it is not usually a cold sweat. I think that anxiety affects people in widely different ways, and cold sweats are just one of the ways it can come across. I agree with Houlle. I think research and maybe some biofeedback can help you relax, and not let these feelings of anxiety and their physical manifestations take over your life.

My hands are always sweating when I do not feel comfortable in a situation. It is not that I am not confident but I really do not feel good sometimes and my hands get all sweaty. As for the cold sweat it happens to me when I get surprised or scared. I noticed that even when I feel anxiety sometimes it happens but it is mostly connected with some kind of uncertainty or a sudden realization of something. Recently I found a plant that helps me a lot. It is valeriana. I use valeriana drops whenever I feel my heart beating or pressure in my head. Cold sweat is only a manifestation of all these things.

I remembered my auntie the sister of my mother had told me that when she was still younger she is also experiencing this cold sweating. She advised me to soak my hands and feet in lukewarm water with rock salt. The warm water will give a warm effect to our feet and the salt will provide magnesium to our body. One of the cause of cold hands and feet is magnesium deficiency that is why salt is a good remedy.

I have had this cold sweating thing since I can remember. And when it comes to me, it's mostly related with anxiety in general. And... I think it has to do with blood circulation, I'm not sure what changes in your pressure when you're feeling anxious, but I'm pretty sure is mostly that.

But still, I think that's a really annoying symptom, because when I even feel it coming I get more anxious because I really hate that feeling.

Well this is probably one of the symptoms that is not really limited to anxiety issues, because I get this whenever my body does not feel well either or I have had a lack of sleep. It can come from being nervous or anxious though, and I have to say that it is very uncomfortable. It is one of those times when you feel cold but you are sweating and you have no idea what is going on. It is frustrating, but I have found that the little coping skills like deep breathing and squeezing the lemons do help to deal with it a little bit, and every little bit helps.

I only get sweaty hands, but no cold hands though. Actually, when I get anxious, my whole body becomes sweaty and it looks like I have been brisk walking. I guess my body isn't "pre-programmed" to experience cold sweats.

Take into account that Cold sweat can also be a symptom of a variety of mild to serious or even life-threatening condition that could require emergency medical assistance, such as aheart attack, severe injury, or shock. When you have a cold sweat due to serious conditions, you may also look very pale and feel weak, short of breath, or have other symptoms, such as chills or chest pain. It is important when you experience a cold sweat that you pay close attention to all the symptoms that you are feeling, so that you and your licensed medical professional can identify and treat its underlying cause. For anxiety issues I think they are not a usual symptom of nervous breakdown, but it can be possible.

Sometimes I am also feeling the same way if I lack sleep I am experiencing also this cold sweating in the palm of my hands and the soles of my feet. And I always feel bad about this thing. But when I regain back my lost sleep and I feel better already no more cold sweating at all.

This always happens to me, along with the trembling of my hands(or my body if the attack's kinda severe), whenever I'm anxious or scared. And, yes! Cold feet and cold hands can be the result of your emotions. They're kinda like signs that you are going through a stressful situation, but be careful because they can also be symptoms of some other medical condition.

I have cold sweats when I'm nervous or when I have too much coffee-- that thing makes you twitchy. I once got cold sweats when I had to sing in front of class and even today when I have a presentation. It's crazy but it's our bodies reaction when we're anxious. Get people who love and support you to help with stage fright or strong negative emotions, you don't have to go through with it alone.

Well I am actually concerned about myself for a little bit of a different reason when it comes to coffee, and I can laugh at it but at the same time it is a little alarming, and that is because it really does not even effect me anymore, which makes me think what would happen if I stopped. I can drink it all the way up until bedtime and be fine, and I know that it is just a crazy high tolerance, which I am pretty sure is not good for anything except maybe nutrients themselves. Sometimes I get nervous thinking of that, though, which can cause some sweats. Maybe I'll get better, but maybe not. Oh well, thanks for sharing.

I don't really get "cold sweats", I get super hot and feels like my body is on fire. I do not feel a bit of coldness at all, though it sounds better than what I go through. I especially feel it on my face and ears, then my body and arms then I start to fall into an attack.

I’m working in ICU and work 12hr shifts and started having plantar fasciitis and orthofeet shoes have solved my problem. I wish they were a little more stylish, but at this point I choose style over function. I see that they have a new color and I will most definitely purchase these again when they need to be replaced.
