Thinking about colours and the effect that colours have on our everyday being, I was wondering if people who are depressed mostly wear darker or lighter colours, and if there is a link between depression and wearing darker colours.

I do suffer from depression but I don't always wear dark colours. Sometimes I wear lighter colours. I love white, but it doesn't stay clean for long! I don't know if I really feel the different effects that different colours have on me when I wear them.

Having depression also makes me not feel up to dressing up everyday, and I am happy loitering about with comfy leggings and a jumper. Whereas, if I have to go out, I am happy to make myself look presentable for the occasion, whatever that may be.

This is an interesting article about how our mood is affected by the colour of clothes that we wear. Do you agree? Do you think that wearing darker colours can have a negative effect on our moods, or do you think that idea is baloney? What colours do you wear?

Definitely not black. I like to wear pinks and whites and sometimes red. Maybe gray. Black clothing for some reason puts my in a gloomy mood. I don't know if there's anything to it though because i've seen super happy confident people want black clothing. In my opinion, it all depends on your personality type.

So if wearing black puts you in a gloomy mood @Concernedgal then there could be something in it maybe? I am not so sure, I know that different colours vibrate at different frequencies with black vibrating at a very low frequency while white is at the top of the scale. And we also know that moods are frequencies too. Maybe the confident people who wear black are already vibrating at a high frequency so it doesn't affect them as it would someone who is depressed.

That was why i mentioned personality type. Its not like i'm totally withdrawn or anything like that but, i'm not that confident either. And I have been thinking about this and i've come up with the conclusion that maybe each color does have its own, well.. you could say ( energy ) . That's my opinion though. I notice that if I wear white, for some reason , my anxiety levels hightened some, (wonder what's that's about?) But, it just does. Maybe it's the way the sun reflects off of my clothing because there are some days that my eyes are just sensitive to light. My doctor says that is a symptom of my severe depression though. My doctor is still trying to find a good combination treatment for me. Lord. Wish they would hurry up and find it. Lol. And if I where black, like I said before it does make me feel more gloomy but, at least it matches how I feel most of the time. I suppose color does effect mood.:sorry:

Yes, I have a sister who can wear anything. A lot of the time it is darker colours but she is vibrating at a really high frequency I'm sure of it. She is a vegetarian and eating meat is supposed to lower our vibes, she also is very big on fitness being a cheerleading coach, and exercise raises our vibes too. Her life is fantastic and she is very happy. Depression though makes me feel lazy and I'm a meat eater so two things there that don't help me very much to raise my vibes! So people like my sister can wear anything and wearing a low frequency clothing item would have little or no effect on her. Whereas, someone who suffers from depression, and who is already vibrating at a lower frequency, wearing darker, lower frequency clothes has more of an effect.
