Has there been any information about how many people in a population will get this virus?
Did everyone in Wuhan get this virus, even those quarantined who did not go to a hosptial?
Is it a foregone conclusion that every one of us is getting this virus?
anyone!!!

NO, everyone living in Wuhan has not gotten the virus. I communicate with someone who lives there every few days. Quarantine requirements have changed over the last couple of months.

And numbers are coming down significantly, they had something like only 7 new cases yesterday so the quarantine is working to help stop the spread.

That is encouraging. Thanks.
But why aren't we shutting more things down like PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!! think of the lack of "social distancing" in a school and the opportunity for "community spread".

Many many colleges are indeed shutting down for a few weeks after spring break, if not for the whole semester. All those kids traveling and then coming back to school can be risky. High schools are on alert but because they don’t live in close quarters (dorms) and not all travel over break it is less of a risk. In a neighboring town a student came into contact with someone that tested positive and they did shut the school down for a few days and that person is under self-quarantine.

Think of it this way. In the 1300s when the black plague struck europe it didn't wipe all of the people. Imagine back then with hardly any medical advancement and some folks never got infected. Now think of ALL the medical resources we have right now. Heck theres already a vaccine they're working on and it's in the testing stages. The thing we gotta do now is simply wash our hands and the guidelines we've all seen and simply wait it out.

What most governments work off of is worst case scenario. Right now things have not reached that point. Like in Ireland we had our first death today. But our government spoke of 80,000 deaths. That is worst case scenario. That will never happen. The number didn't even get near that in China. Or Italy. You plan for the worst if you are running a country. With the knowledge that it will never get as bad as you have planned for. You take the population and the amount of cases. Here we have only 25 cases so far. Population of over 6 million. That is still a small number. Only 1 death. But they are talking of closing schools down. Shutting down everything by 6PM each day. Allowing people to work from home. No sporting events. They plan for the worst case scenario. In reality their main job is to try and stop it spreading. So nothing were there are any crowds will help to do that. It can be a frightening time. The news is non stop. Reporting on every single case. We never had that with anything else in the past. And we had a few outbreaks of things in the past. But with no non stop news back then, we didn't know as much as we know now about this one. So the news is doing more scaring than anything else. Best make it clear as to why a government does the whole worst case scenario thing. When it ends and the figures are nothing like they said, they will claim that was because of them and the steps they took. Makes them look good in the eyes of the people who really believed their figures.
