Hi! I am new here. For the last 3yrs and 3 months I have been told that I have anxiety (chronic). I have had a hard time accepting this. My symptoms are mainly constant state of feeling off balance (feels like I pull to the left), rapid heart rate when walking or standing, feeling as if I may faint at times. can anyone relate to this?

Who said you have chronic anxiety? Was it your doctor? If it wasn't, it is time to get a complete medical checkup to rule out possible physical problems. It is always better to get the physical checked out first before jumping on the anxiety disorder bandwagon.

You symptoms are very common to anxiety disorder, but there are physical maladies that can also cause such feelings. So get checked out if you haven't already.

The symptoms you are describing are exactly how mine were in the beginning. I thought I was literally having a heart attack or a stroke every day. Doctors and family thought I was faking and trying to get attention, and thought I was drug seeking. I thought i was truly the only one going through this, and that i was going crazy. At the moment my attacks are pretty much controlled with medication, but there are those days that seem like nothing helps. On those days I find it best to just be in my room, and have the lights off. Cooling myself down helps like sitting in front of a fan or air conditioning. While I am doing that I try to focus on imagery ( imagining I am somewhere else, a "safe" place), I wish I could say it gets easier, but you do find ways of coping with it. I think each person is different, but we do know how you are feeling. I promise you are not alone in this fight with anxiety. I hope you find peace.
