I have no idea what this is. So hoping someone can see this and tell me if they've experienced something similar. I've been trying to sleep for hours but I haven't been able to. I at first thought it was how I was placing my arm as I waa trying to sleep. But now its happening even if I sit fully up in bed.
I'm feeling fullness in my neck. So much so that I feel as if its restricting my breathing and I'm afraid to go to sleep in case something blocks my breathing. I drank some water and it didn't seem like it was blocking anything. I just can't sleep like this. It feels like I'm just not getting the air I'm supposed to. I have a Covid test today but I'm afraid to even sleep. What should I do about this? I've been trying to find a good position but to no avail.
Anyone ever felt this before? What could it be? Should I go to the ER for this?

Acid reflux maybe? Can create a similar feeling. When we lie down it can rise to the throat area. Just guessing here.

I get this a lot. I’ve never gotten an answer for it. I’m able to swallow food and fluid normally. It caused me a fair amount of panic for a long time. I ended up getting a pulse oxometer to just check my blood oxygen when it happened. It’s always normal so I’ve chalked it up to anxiety. Certain medications can do it as well, I take hydroxyzine (it’s awful nightmarish stuff but it beats sever panic attacks) and one of the side effects of that is feeling like you can’t draw a full breath.
