Been Doing Better, but Have Concerns

So for the last year or so I've been pretty good on the HA front, although part of me wonders if that's just do to nothing really being off with my body. So that was up until today.

Backstory, I had some buddies in town for a football game so obviously we drank much more throughout the course of the weekend than I normally would. Yesterday I actually played in a men's league hockey game in the morning (in which I was an idiot and forgot water). I went straight from the rink to the football stadium where I drank multiple beers without really eating much. By the time I got back I ate a cold wrap and went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night with chills and ended up throwing up. Today every stool I have had has been very yellowish in color.

Part of me wonders if if I drank too much this weekend and screwed up my liver. My grandmother also currently has PC and although I know it would be rare for me to get at 31, it's definitely in my mind and know that yellow stools can be caused by bile blockages. The more rational part of me also is telling myself that poor diet mixed with dehydration probably has something to do with it as well.

Should I be concerned? I've been doing so well, but seeing a totally different light yellow stool color has just totally thrown me.

With things like this, I like to give it a week or so. Just to see if things get better. In other words with the whole anxiety side of things, we can make things worse with how we think. Just my own way of doing things. The one to two week rule. Sort of to make sure it is something real. If it begins to clear up you will know it was to do the hockey match and lack of water and then going out for a drink. I just wouldn't panic as of yet.

Yellowish stool is indicative of an intestinal virus. Mostly happens to kids. High smell, yellowish stool, fever, vomiting usually. BRAT diet for several days usually prescribed for kids. All viruses pass thru the bowel to eliminate from the body. The diet, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, all aid in the elimination of the virus, they don’t have any properties that the virus can cling to. Dairy is absolutely the worst during this time. That is if it is indeed an intestinal virus. But your symptoms do point to it. I’ve dealt with it in my kids. Follow the diet, plenty of water or pedialite, which you can get otc in grocery stores or pharmacies. Although it is mostly seen in kids, adults do get it too.

Thanks for the responses. The stools have gone back to normal, but I have felt very bloated and full which is unusual. I have never really felt that way before. I can still eat, but the fullness lasts for hours and makes it hard to do anything. Maybe I do have a stomach bug. I'm not sure. This has just never happened to me before. It sucks because being active is one of my ways to combat anxiety, but it is almost impossible to exercise when you feel bloated.

It takes time to recover from any illness. Anyone can catch a bug, it’s not unheard of. Happens all the time. There are very few bugs we can get that we recover from quickly. Give your body time to do it’s job.

Matd is right, i know for myself and im sure others with health anxiety we cant stand when we dont feel our normal self's and went recovery immediately. Ive mentioned a couple times I've been going through exactly that recently.

So just wanted to update and seek advice. Shortly after my last repost I had the worst diarrhea of my life for 3 days straight. It was wild. Almost went to the ER but it finally subsided and I assumed that this had all been a stomach bug because if it were something worse I assume it wouldn't have gotten better. For the next week or so, I felt normalish but I was eating very bland foods. The first time I tried going outside of that, it was bad news. So I backed up for another week in terms of diet. Things seemed to be okay except I was going to the bathroom at a much higher frequency. As much as 3-4 times a day. Finally last weekend I tried to branch out food wise and had a couple drinks and I just feel extremely bloated and gassy. I have a doctors appt on the 28th, but something still feels off. I haven't really felt any pain but the bloated/gassy feeling is just very uncomfortable. I have just felt off now for going on almost a calendar month. I also wonder how much anxiety is amplifying this too. I know that anxiety can mess with your digestive tract but unsure how. I just wish my appointment was sooner because I'm just feeling extremely ill at ease.

Your brain is the control of the body. Your brain is in disorder. We are what we think, literally, just as we are what we eat. So that anxiety laden brain is sending anxiety laden signals to the body. Cause and effect. Literally everything body wise in the nervous system is affected by the anxiety. You may have had a virus, they are common. Viruses exit the body thru the bowels. A probiotic could help restore your digestive tract. Give it a try, it couldn’t hurt.

IBS is a very common problem in anxiety (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Doctors don't know the cause, but the effects can be very painful and disconcerting. Going to the toilet frequently is one of the symptoms. switching from diarrhea to constipation is another symptom.
I believe anxiety is the cause, and although it can be very upsetting it sems to be harmless. There are anti spasmodic drugs that can be bought over the counter (UK) to relieve the bloated feeling.
