This sounds silly, but I experience very bad anxiety over my period. To the point of having anxiety attacks. I want to talk to someone about it but I feel so embarrassed. It feels out of my control and I have all these what ifs about it. It’s something I have to go through, I can’t avoid it. (Which is also scary) I’ve always thought I’d get used to it but never have. Any advice?????

Hello chri, welcome to the forum first of all. We are happy to have you here.
Now, fair disclaimer, I may not be entirely able to relate to your situation, as I am a male and do not experience periods. But based on previous interactions with my friends who are females, they get anxious about their periods too. Specifically, they get anxious about how it is going to go, how it is going to make them feel, if it is going to be painful at all, etc. It does not surprise me that you are having anxiety about it. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I would assume periods are not foreign to you at all and that they quickly became a regular part of your life, but just want to get an idea.
I'll let the females take over now with the rest of the responses, but I hope you find some comfort in my post to you :)

Ty for replying. I’m 17 so yes I’ve been dealing with it for quite some time. That’s why I don’t understand why I still feel so anxious over it.

Gotcha, I'm 18, so I can relate more on that end of everything. :)
Quite possibly, it could just be a combination of a few different things. Your body is still experiencing some changes that you may not know how to handle yet, and plus, you're more aware now of how periods function and flow. Could just be hyperawareness of how your periods are going. That's what I've noticed with my friends who have had anxiousness about their periods too.

Hi Chri!
I have been having periods for about 21 years and I can tell you that you're not alone, girl! What specifically are you anxious about when it comes to your period? Is it late? early? too far apart? too close together? super painful?
