I stay as far away from western medicine as humanly possible and when I do have to encounter it, believe me its hell itself - the experience and the days leading up to it.
That said, I'm always looking for something non traditional to assuage my health fears.
Its weird as I can go for like a month and not obsess and other times I go from one episode to another to another - like now.
I found a local hypnotist who gets 5 star reviews but he's pretty expensive.
He sounds good, people seem to really like him, nice guy, etc. I'm so cynical I wonder if he could help ME though - even if he's helped others with anxiety I'm a real hard case. LIfe long - since I was 6 years old and now I'm much older than that!

Tried it once for a few sessions and it was useless for me. Waste of money. I think you are either into these things or you are not. I went there expecting to be put to sleep. Nothing like that happened at all. Wide awake on some uncomfortable chair. Then I saw she done healing with animals as well. That was a game changer. I thought the woman a bit over the top crazy. One thing working with humans. But these people who claim they can heal our pets? No thank you. Would never try it again.

I'm having doubts, believe me.
My angst is getting so bad as I get older that I think I might just keel over from fright.
I've never taken any meds for this -afraid of side effects and dependency.
I have heard that Zoloft can be good for health anxiety but once you start such things don't you have to keep upping the dosage over time? I've heard that you do.

I've been hypnotized three times. Once for anxiety (marriage phobia) and twice for quitting smoking. Although I was definitely hypnotized, a pretty strange and amazing experience, none of the sessions worked for what I went there for. Plus, it was with three different hypnotists.

I've thought about hypnosis as well.. I tried one on you tube for anxiety and it seemed to help. I would find myself repeating what was said to me.. and it calmed me..I wish there was a fix all.. I do talk therapy and I don't feel like it works for me. I'm less anxious for a few days after I see her but then it builds.. have you ever tried acupuncture? I have been wanting to try that too.

I "do" Traditional Chinese Medicine (he's an MD but not a scary one) so I get accupucture every month and he mixes up special herbs for me to put out the fire (my Chinese diagnosis is dryness and heat) and calm down the dryness....and quell the anxiety.
Not sure if it works or not.
I guess I'm looking for some spectacular cure over time but I -haven't seen that yet.
Still I like to go to him and he does give me some advice on a few of my body fears when I have the courage to ask him. The accupuncture session is relaxing - lying on the table listening to the classical music - I wish it would last!

There are a lot of things are springing up over the past decade or so. Some I would not waste my time with at all. Like the ones were you don't even have to leave your house. They use a surrogate to represent you. Thus they work on a fellow worker and you are meant to get better. I know people could argue that prayer is similar. People pray for people all the time when they are not in the same house or even same country. But they don't charge you about 100 plus to do that. All these distant healers make a good bit of money off those who want to believe in their methods. The video you might get from them would be relaxing. But that is all it is. Relaxing. Kind of like it would trigger ASMR feelings in your body. That is something I find very relaxing. ASMR. Just watching videos on you tube. Relaxing as I do so. No charge involved.
