Anyone here actually had COVID-19?

Early on I suspect I did - Late January/Early February 2020. Had some weird illness that suspiciously had the symptoms of covid, with the loss of sense of smell and taste. Had just returned from abroad then.

But at that point they weren't saying that was covid, and the UK's attitude was that if you have not been to China, it's not covid. Didn't think much of it then.
Some loss of smell and taste is common with colds and flus./ Loss of smell from Covid tends to be extreme as in you lose the sense entirely. Did you experience anything like that?

Yeah, could been covid, could have been regular cold or flu. Who knows really.

What I'm saying is that if it was extreme you would not be able to smell at all, not even a little. Like bring lemon juice to your nose and breathe in as deeply as you can and get nothing. It might as well be water. Did you experience that?

I didn't get it but my best friend one town down the road did. He was vaccinated which horrified me even more. According to him, it started with a minor cough and a tickle in the throat. It evolved into sleepiness and some sinus congestion for a few days. His sense of taste was shot for about a week after recovering and I was anxious that it was permanently damaged. Now that a month has passed his taste ability is fully recovered.

I got tested a month ago when one of my coworkers got sick (fever and stomach flu, not covid) becasue I am really OCD about being in the same office as some who is ill, and especially about touching their things. I tested negative. If I do get Covid as a vaccinatied person, I imagine I'll have the same reaction as my vaccinated buddy with minor, nonlethal symptoms.

I got a case of cold around 2 months ago but got tested in the first and fifth day of my sickness (two tests, was recommended to do so by a nurse) but both were negative.
But soon I will have the antibody test because another nurse told me to do it, she said PCR tests have very high false negative results.
FYI all. Get the antibody test to be sure, that's the only sure way to know if you have had covid or not.

I tested positive for antibodies. I took the rapid test and it was negative, but my send off test came back positive. I do NOT trust the rapid tests. I also never had a fever.

Rapid test, you mean the test you do at home? (edit: ohh wait you are talking about antigen test here?)
Well I got test kits, swapped throat/nose stuff myself at home, put it in the tube and sent it to lab. Got results both times after a day or so and both times were negative.
Yeah I didn't have fever or any body ache/headache etc. Just the good old sore throat/stuffy runny nose, hoarse voice and cough. No taste smell loss. Nothing.
It felt so mild, that's why I doubted that it was Covid.

What were your symptoms?
Last week I was achy all over. This week I have a headache and feel lethargic. Wondering if I actually caught this thing. No fever or throat problems. My stomach has been nauseated lately too. I was reading some people don’t get a fever or sore throat.
Back in October of last year. Felt like the flu except I was much more fatigued. I’m lucky in that given my age and overall health I had virtually no risk of being hospitalized from it

That's correct, the vaccinated can still catch it (although it's less likely), but do not end hospitalised because of it.

The tests you do at home aren't very reliable, the ones that get sent to a lab are.

Hi Belizz, were you able to do the antibody test? I have the same symptoms, just cough, sore throat and stuffy nose. I got tested twice and both were negative. I was wondering if I should do the antibody test as well.

Kristine, I am scheduled to get the test 27th September, soon. So then I will know and update here. If you are vaccinated you already have antibodies in your body and these symptoms might be something else, a mild cold, allergies etc.
But if you are not vaccinated, and if you have means to get the test, yeah go for it. But wait around a month or so after your symptoms go away. Knowing if you have antibodies can help with lots of things.
I was recommended to get the antibody by the nurse I talked to because my covid tests were negative and she said the tests sometimes can be false negative.

I might have had it but it was too early to even get a test. I passed out at work and then I almost passed out when I got home. Then I almost passed out again the next day after getting out of bed. Then a few hours later I got the worst fever and body aches I have ever had. Then I had terrible nausea that lasted for a week. I had headaches and dizzy spells for a month. Then a couple of months later I heard that covid doesn't always cause respirator symptoms. But they were saying that antibody tests weren't that reliable at that point so I never got one. Now I am double vaxxed so there is no way to know if I had it or not. It might have been ordinary flu that killed me. I'm sure I;m dead. I must be. If I didn't have it I will. We are all going to get it eventually. It's a highly contagious virus like the one that causes the common cold.

So you went and got vaccinated after all? After all the fuss you made about it??

I have apparently antibodies, both of them the nurse said and checked somethings on the paper. I don't know what they mean so I need to check them on the internet but she mentioned I have "both", whatever that means.

Never could've guessed that mild case of cold would be Covid. The most annoying thing with it was biting throat pain and sticky runny nose, that's all.

Edit: oh yes, she meant IGG and IGM with "both", as anyone with any immunity supposed to have. So it's as it should be. Nothing interesting.

I never said I didn't get vaccinated. I said people shouldn't be forced or coerced into getting vaccinated. Normally I don't take anything that is new, meaning it hasn't been on the market for at least a few years. But I made an exception for this because I knew I would need it to go to many concerts.

Given that the CDC admitted the PCR test is faulty, how would anyone know they really had Covid. There are so many different viruses that all have common symptoms. How many times have you ever had a “ bug” that was going around? Now everything is attributed to Covid, and the common flu has disappeared from CDC numbers. Think about it. Not only that, but Covid has a 99%+ survival rate. You are at greater risk of dying when you drive your car. Hmmmm.

Yeah this!
I have been thinking about that for a while now, mostly because the numbers would dramatically change then and death numbers will reduce actually. And yet no one is recommending to take the antibody test before vaccination so that they know the amount of asymptomatic immune people, instead they offer the vaccine first. And the PCR tests are false negative mostly, half of the people I know who got sick had their PCRs false negative. Because they showed antibodies later on. That's one of my biggest question marks in this issue.

I personally know a whole bunch around me who decided to have the antibody test out of nowhere without getting sick and they were already immune.
