I use a heating pad everyday and my stomach has toasted skin syndrome and I know I need to stop but it really helps my anxiety when I feel sick. I get bad ibs and GERD symptoms so using a heating pad calms me down. It really messed up my stomach now I’m embarrassed and need to stop. I’m scared imma get cancer or something from it. Any remedies for toasted skin syndrome to heal better. I also take a lot of baths but I won’t cut out baths I can’t. I’ll cut out the heating pad as much as I can. I started to stop using it a little bit at a time then this past week has been horrible and nothing but stress so I used it a lot again. It was healing

How hot is the heat pad and are you putting it directly onto your skin? It could be that you either need to turn down the heat or have a towel underneath the pad.

ok...this is something i actually know about. i use to use a heating pad also to help sooth, comfort, relax me. it did that. but it also gave me the "toasted skin syndrome" when i went to the hospital for another panic episode they saw my back, the nurses thought i was being abused. lol. they actually sent in a counselor. it was a joke to me, i thought it funny becuz my fiance would never lay a hand on me and when i actually saw A DOCTOR, they said the same thing. it was from a heaing pad, she knew right away. your capularies explode and it looks awful....theres no treatment for it, just STOP USING THE HEATING PAD :( it sucked for awhile but i got use to it. u will too. and the marks WILL go away, it takes alot of time tho. just stop using the heating pad. # good luck girl!
