Hi! I was diagnosed with anxiety last November 2019. My doctor gave me antidepressants which I took for a month. I stopped already because he does not want me to be dependent on meds. Instead, he recommended to do some natural remedies like walking, exercise, eating healthy food, avoid stressors, yoga and meditate. So walking for at least 30 minutes at the park and meditating for 10 minutes help me a lot. And whenever I am already tired from work, I pause and go outside or do something else. Honestly, all these work for me and I did not have severe attack til I had bell's palsy last March 15. So when I realized I had bell's palsy, anxiety started to spike again and unfortunately it got worse because of the covid thing. So from March til now it spikes once a day or every other day. So here are the things I experience and I need to know if these are all really related to anxiety...

- Need to pee several times when I worry too much. It lasts for a couple of hours.
- Feeling that I am i'll or I may be able to catch a disease
- Scared that I might die and leave my children and the rest of the family
- I feel like I want to hug someone or I need a pillow or anything that I can hug
- Tensed, uneasy, cannot concentrate
- A little chest pain which makes me paranoid that I might get a heart attack
- Feeling of having an abnormal breathing. It's like I cannot breath deeply.
- It makes me feel I want to cough more often (not sure if that is anxiety cough). I feel there is something in my throat.
- A little dizzy or lightheaded (but i experienced this just 2x times)
- Tension headache (1 day only) and tired neck (doctor told me it is a result of anxiety attack)
- Feeling tired after a severe attack
- Numbness, tiny vibration inside and tingling.

Can you tell me if these are all normal with someone who has anxiety or this is something else.

Thanks in advance.

Definitely it is all normal for anxiety patient. I have a list of anxiety symptom but not in English language sorry. There is maybe 100 or more.

I do meditation every day. 10 minutes is good when you start to do it but I think it is better that you can extend little by little to 30 minutes or more.

I have bad back so meditate lie down on back.

Hi

This is how i have felt since February, your symptoms are very similar to mine, i also get churning stomach, weak legs and tense body, and sleep issues. My doctor put me on antidepressants 8wks ago.. Hope your symptoms go soon.

I've had at least half of those listed "anxiety goodies", they are not fun at all but I am learning how to live with them

Exercise, eating healthy food, avoid stressors, meditation are all great stuff that I do and they really help.

Shallow breathing and I feel like I want to cough, lol. And when I cough, I get more scared because as you know this is one of the signs of Covid, lol. This is really making me crazy. Take care and stay safe!
That is me .... :)
high five! take care and stay safe. :)

Thank you and glad to know that you are able to deal with them. Take care!

mine is not really tightness but an acid reflux that makes my chest feel warm (heartburn). i had to drink pantoprazole for a week to manage it.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I hate the feeling of tired body...back pain, heavy shoulders, tired neck. It makes me think that it is related to covid...i'm getting paranoid. How are you able to handle all these aside from meds?
Hey everyone! Thank you for all your replies. I feel a bit relieved coz now I know that all my symptoms are 80% anxiety and not covid or heart attack. Can anyone suggest some good ways to minimize tense muscle...back pain, heavy shoulders, and tired neck? I have been dealing with all these since March...on and off. I am considering to get another prescription of antidepressant but that is my last option. I was fine for 3 months without any meds so I am trying my best to work this out without being dependent to medications. Thank you and looking forward again to your recommendations.

I can relate to every one of your symptoms at one point or another in my HA journey. I’ll check and see if I have the list of anxiety symptoms anywhere. The list is huge! The shortness of breath I had not too long ago. It’s since passed like a whole bunch of other symptoms I’ve had in the past.

I am not pro-medication or against medication. Everyone makes their own decisions. However, I AM a little surprised that your doc put you in anti-depressants for one month, since most take 3-4 weeks to even start to really work. Not all medications are habit-forming, and in my case a low dose just helps me think clearly enough to do all of the other healthy things to take care of myself and my anxiety. Have you talked to your doc about how you feel after the BP diagnosis? Because that would cause anyone anxiety, with or without a previous problem with it.

Having said that, the other things are super important. Exercise, meditation, relaxation and breathing techniques, eating well... All of these reduce anxiety and help us cope. I'm failing at most of these right now. Hahahahaha
