anxiety&stress related swollen glands

anyone got an idea if anxiety&stress can cause mildly swollen lymph nodes/glands?

there is no specific data online explains the situation as some of them tells yes and some of them tells no.

a doctor told me i got some swollen glands under my chin and suggested to make biopsy and it makes me freaked out. i am not sure how long they are there since doctor checked them with ultrasound.

please tell your opinions if stress can cause glands to swell

I have read of some folks with anxiety having swollen lymph nodes but not usually as a direct "cause and effect", i.e. the anixety doesn't cause it but it might be possible.

Anxiety could easily explain feeling that your glands are swollen. It's remarkable what symptom anxiety can cause. However, after an ultrasound, if your doctor feels you need a biopsy, please get it done.

I don’t think stress can make them swell or at least I’ve never heard of it if they can. I have a swollen lymph node in front of my ear that is about the size of a pea and some “shotty nodes” in my neck. I can’t really feel those though. They found the ones in the neck on mri. How long have you had these swollen nodes? If you haven’t had them long, I would maybe speak to the doctor and see if you could wait to see if they go down before biopsy. Just a thought. I pray your lymph nodes shrink and you don’t have to have any more tests done.

I absolutely agree that anxiety can give you the feeling they are swollen but the poster said the doctor found them. Of course now that he/she knows they are swollen, the anxiety will cause them to be more noticable. Isn't HA great?.................NOT!!
