Lately I've been under a lot of stress at work. About a month ago I had a cough, fatigue, anxiety, and felt sick. I went to the dr to get checked out. They ran some tests and everything came back normal. They said it's probably a flu like virus making me feel bad.

It has been a month or so and the cough has left. I'm still struggling with anxiety attacks and fatigue though. I've had anxiety in the past during stressful times, but not like this. Some parts of the day it's hard to sit still. Other times I'm able to relax, but feel exhausted afterwards. I'm hoping it passes eventually. What do you usually do to help with anxiety?

I listen to music and just surround myself with positive people. My anxiety is really bad right now as well. This site has helped me a lot. Hope you start to feel better.

Unfortunately, my anxiety is back up this afternoon. I don't know what caused it.

Mine is worse in the morning as well. I just feel helpless. I also hate the thought of waking up after my husband has went to work. He is my main support.

I am going through the same thing. Mondays are especially difficult.

Yes. Monday was so bad. Today was not as bad but I think I am more anxious about being anxious than anything else. It is a vicious cycle.

I can relate. And I feel people know I'm anxious, which makes it worse, and I have guilt because of my anxiety. I just want to feel in control of it, and am working so hard to overcome what prevents me from enjoying my life. I hope you feel better, it isn't a fun way to live.

Have you ever been checked for ADHD? The reason I ask is the fact you can’t sit still. I have had what I believed was your garden variety generalized anxiety disorder. I had been diagnosed with such. Recently, because of other issues I had been having, I went to see a functional neurologist. He ran a bunch of test, but one in particular was a QEEG. It was a brain scan which showed I scored high for ADHD and very little on the anxiety spectrum. You could have knocked me over with a feather! He explained that it’s not that I didn’t FEEL anxious, but anxiety wasn’t my issue...the ADHD was and that was causing anxiety. I hope that makes sense.

I am very honest and open about my anxiety with close friends and family. Unfortunately though, my biggest fear is my husband will get "tired" of it and leave. He would never do that but when im in my anxious state we know there is nothing rational about our thinking. Ive been on celexa for a month and i feel the same as i did before i started taking it. No one understands unless they live with this. I wouldn't wish this feeling on my worst enemy. I hope you are having a good day today

I haven't been checked for ADHD. I just was under a lot of stress and it turned into anxiety. I worry about a lot of different things and I hope it eases up soon.

I see most of you guys have morning Anxiety. Add me to the list. I wake up through the night, late night. I watch tv and sometimes I do breathing exercises which does help.. I manage to go back to sleep. Some mornings are better than others.

Kim.. from my experience I can say, it does get better. I had horrible anxiety years ago. I still have it from time to time. The thing that helps me the most when I feel anxiety creep up is I tell myself this feeling will pass.. sometimes it lingers a bit too long however, it does pass. But it does take time to get to that point.
