Hi everybody,
Just wanted to shared my experience as it may be helpful to others.
I was surprised to find my panic attacks return after first overcoming them more than a decade ago, seemingly out of nowhere, about 4 months ago (I pretty much lost everything thanks to the pandemic). This developed into full-blown panic disorder as the symptoms were much more terrifying than before: palpitations, vomiting, fainting (hitting my head as a result), sometimes for stretches of 10 hours at a time. So I began panicking about the next attack, having no one around to call an ambulance if I had concussion or some other complication, etc. I was taking medication, meditating, cutting out what little sugar (mostly fruit), alcohol and caffeine was in my diet, but I felt as though my condition was only worsening.
Well, I'm happy to report I've had the best week in about four months, and I'm quite confident it's because I have been taking a high dose of Omega-3 for 14 days. I have done this just once before in my life but did not feel a discernible difference at that time. Honestly it's so liberating to not be on edge for all of your waking hours—I'd almost forgotten what it was like to feel normal.
I really recommend trying this out, especially since side effects are minimal to nil, though please talk to your doctor about it first. Dr Basant Puri at Imperial College is widely published on the subject of lipids and brain health, and the VegEPA supplement offered by igennus (there is also a wholesaler in the UK called Vegepa Club which offers the best prices and donates to ME Research) is aligned with his recommendations as far as ratio of EPA to DHA is concerned (EPA should be a lot higher, and I take equiv to 800mg a day). It's paired up with a Vitamin E in the form of primrose oil. I've found another supplement called Primus which is quite similar. Remember you want a high quality EPA so when shopping around check that they declare the source.
I hope this helps. If you try it out, let me know how you get on!
Take care!
