Anxiety due to the upcoming executive checkup

I will be having my executive checkup tomorrow morning so I have to go on fasting tonight (it is now late afternoon here). That checkup is a requirement of our office, it is an annual affair. Aside from the blood chemistry, there's the usual x-ray, ecg, ultrasound and some other tests. It should be an advantage to me because I will be cleared of any health issues, I hope. But this is getting to my nerves because what if they find my kidney stones needed surgery? I have thoset stones since 2006 and I have been drinking herbal tea to control its growth. I'm also scared of probable findings about my reproductive system. Oh, well, maybe I am just being paranoid.

Help me pray that the result of my checkup tomorrow will be okay. Thanks for reading.

Hi @Corzhens. :)  I know how you feel since I also feel that sometimes whenever I know I'm going on a check-up. Different thoughts enter my mind until such a time that I already have the results of my medical examination and they all turn out normal. Anyway, my thoughts are with you and I will be hoping for a normal result of all your tests. Do keep us posted on how your executive check-up goes. God bless you!  :)

Something like that would also cause me anxiety too because I always expect the worst and think they will find something. I am a worrier too so I get where you are coming from. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that everything comes back okay. I am sure everything will be just fine though. Be sure to let us know how you made out. Keeping you in my prayers.

I thank God because the checkup is over. However, the result is yet to be released tomorrow. But nevertheless, I feel greatly relieved because I had to fast last night and had my breakfast at 9am this morning. That made me weak-kneed considering that I was quite scared. But I didn't wince when blood was taken from my vein. After the x-ray and everything, I sat in the rest area and texted my husband that it was over. By the way, included in my checkup is a drug test - to determine if I am a user of illegal drugs. I wonder why they had included that test for employees. Well, the issue of illegal drugs is getting so blown up here that it is always the headline in the evening news. Back to my checkup, I am praying that I get good results tomorrow.

I've had several jobs that required drug tests, and when I see my doctor, he always drug tests me, because he sometimes gives me pain medication, and needs to know I'm not using something illegal. It's a legal requirement here whenever a doctor gives pain medication, and pain patients also have to sign a contract stating they won't take illegal drugs. I've never been concerned about the results of the drug tests, but it does irritate me that it seems everyone is a suspect until proven innocent, unlike what our system of justice is supposed to be based on. It sounds as if the increase drug activity over there is causing your country to move in the direction of policies like we have here, unfortunately.

Hopefully all of your tests will come out clear, and you can move forward. In the even that something is found, though, at least you will know what is wrong, and can address those issues. I don't like having blood drawn, because it usually leaves me feeling weak, and I also don't care for fasting, because it sometimes leaves me feeling faint.

Corzhens! How were your results? I hope they were favorable - I think every time we do something scary, and realize that we survived, we become stronger!

I'm also glad that your husband can be your emotional support during this time. I try to have him with me at every appointment.

How are your results? Did everything go well? I sure hope so. I have been checking back each day but I have not seen anything since this post. A lot of companies drug test their employees it seems. They also do random drug test so that people don't know when they will be done. Drugs seem to be a big problem around here too and they can't risk injuries at a workplace because of drug use.

Well it seems like the test went smoothly. Did you still get anxious while taking it? Like the others in here, I'm also curious about the results of the test. How did it go for you? Are your kidney stones still kept in check and are still harmless?

I've disliked going to the Dr. ever since I was a young girl, but these things have to be done. Glad that your check-up is done and out-of-the-way, but, like everyone else here, I would like to know what the results are. Hopefully everything is fine. Anxiety about medical results is so nerve-wracking.

I would feel the same too. I'm a worrier and a pessimist by nature(not a good combination) so i always worry about things, even the ones that are out of my control and always expects the worst. I hope it all went well for you.

I once had a problem with kidney stones, too. My doctor advised me to drink mineral water, lots and lots of it every day. So I went shopping and, after looking at various brands, chose one. Then I bought crates of the mineral water. After I had drunk the mineral water for one month, one of the kidney stones came out together with my urine. I could feel it shooting out like kind of with a pop. However, I was pissing in the bowl, so I couldn't retrieve it. After that, I changed to pissing on the floor. Sure enough, not too many days after that, another one came out. It was only about the size of an orange seed. One end was round and the other was pointed. The color was dark orange. I think that's ferric oxide. After that, I was fine. Then, not much later, the government did a test of the mineral water sold on the market and reported a list of false mineral water. I looked down the list and found my brand there. So I had been drinking lots and lots of false mineral water.
