Hello-
I am new here. Ive suffered from anxiety depression and OCD for my whole life. I just recently learned that there was a name to thins bizarre thing I experienced called depersonalization. Its absolutely terrifying. My mind races a million miles a minute but literally NOT about anything in particular. Random thoughts. Feeling like im not myself, totally detached from real life. The biggest problem is that I feel like there is some new psychiatric disorder that nobody knows about that I HAVE. Like this cant be normal....feeling totally out of control of words and actions. Now its affected my communication. Im a dance and fitness instructor and I stumble on words, search for words and say the wrong words all thru class. Its horrible. Anyone out there fell this way?

Hi and welcome emmiesuz. Just went through a bout of depersonalization this morning. I was sitting in my basement and realized my racing thoughts were to the point that they had distracted me enough that I couldn't remember how I got there. Usually during very high anxiety times any depersonalization comes in the form of a "outside looking in" sensation. You're certainly not alone with these symptoms. I have real difficulty speaking, finding words and even have difficulty walking during very high anxiety. One thing I learned is if I don't overreact eventually my anxiety settles down enough where the depersonalization symptoms subside and the physical symptoms related to speaking and walking get better. Am wishing you the best, that things settle down for you and that you can find some helpful advice here.

Welcome Emmiesuz, i know exactly how u feel, as Triceps and many others on here does. I experience daily Depersonalization and Derealization to the point that it sometimes actually makes me question reality for a few moments! Very strange how this makes one feel. Over many years, i haven't been able to stop it, but i have, in a way accepted it and somehow deal with it when it peaks. We are all here for each other, and that alone helps tremendously!

I hit something here and I got all these faces. Can't get them off. Just disreguard them please. lol I don't know how I do these things.
I get depersonalization also. I feel like I am on the outside looking at what's going on. Or that I am on another planet. I think a lot of us get that. It always leaves on it's own but it can hang around all day sometimes.
