Hi all. I'm feeling really tensed up tonight, having a tight chest, pains in my hands, and uncomfortable shooting pains in my teeth. I went in the shower to help relax and thankfully the feelings went away. Which makes me think this is anxiety related. Does this sound like anxiety?? Or do i need to go to the A/E :oops:

Hi Chris. I can tell you that I have had each of those anxiety-related symptoms at one time or another. Usually they occur during an anxiety attack except for the teeth pains which I get fairly regularly. It's great that the shower was an effective treatment.

I always wondered what those symptoms meant. I've had them since I was a kid. I always thought I had a heart issue or something but was too afraid to get checked out. It's relieving to hear it's most likely anxiety related. Thanks! :)

Hi Chris. Just thought I'd let you know that I just now made it past an anxiety attack which included all of your symptoms except the teeth pain. With all of the testing you've been through, any heart issues would have shown up by now. I believe those symptoms you described are all anxiety related. Just one anxiety sufferer's opinion.

Thanks, Really hope so. Out of interest do you think your teeth pain is anxiety related? What does it feel like to you? Shooting pains from the neck/jaw? That’s the one thing I’m worried about now..

My teeth pain is anxiety related because the anxiety makes me unconsciously clench my teeth. If it happens while I sleep, my teeth and jaw are more sore than actually in real pain. It's different than the pain you're describing. Not sure what you've got going there but my guess would be it's your anxiety coming out in a different way.

It sounds very much like a constant tenseness in your body. If you keep clenching your teeth and just being tense all over, your body will tell you with pain, that it needs to relax. The shower was a good move to relieve those symptoms. It might be worth though to find another strategy to take you out of the tenseness.
